The Team in General

  • Badass Crew: Indeed they are, proved time and time again.
  • Blood Knight: Hammerstein of all people admits that they were designed to enjoy combat...with the exception of Ro-Jaws and to a lesser extent Steelhorn, (mainly) in the earlier comics.
  • Good Old Robot: They are all centuries old, so they qualify to an extent.
  • Ragtag Bunch of Misfits: A bit more functional compared to most examples, but half of them clearly have a few screws loose.
  • Ridiculously Human Robots: Each of them are capable of emotions and have their own desires and hobbies (for better or worse).

Hammerstein

Designed as the first war droid for the purpose of fighting in the Volgan War, Hammerstein is (usually) the leader of the warriors and arguably the most compassionate, brave and patriotic among them.

  • A Father to His Men: Does anything he can to save those under His command, even if his higher ranking officers have other ideas.
  • Big Good: Was literally made to be "compassionate, brave, patriotic, and know the lyrics to any national anthem."
  • Butt-Monkey: For all his good qualities, he does not get alot of respect from his teammates. They're viable to flouting his authority and making up their own minds on things, and are quite openly vocal on considering Deathlock as the one who truly calls the shots.
  • Character Catchphrase: "Spread the word."
  • The Leader: Of the ABC Warriors.
  • Nice Guy: The most compassionate of the warriors and is usually far more sympathetic and civil towards non-combatants.
  • Old Soldier: Being a centuries old bot aside, he sometimes acts like this.
  • Only Sane Man: He isn't just the leader because he's the most qualified, but also for being the only one that tries to act like an ordinary person.
  • Super Prototype: Was the first successful war droid created during the Volgan War. He had independent thought while the rest of the Hammerstein line had to obey their human commanders.
  • They Call Him "Sword": Gets his name from his right hand which is the head of a sledgehammer.
