Stray is a Superhero Comic Book published by Action Lab Comics, written by Vito Delsante with art by Sean Izaaske.

Rodney Weller was a Kid Hero, sidekick to his father, The Doberman. Together, they protected the innocent of their city, and made sure crime didn't go unpunished. However, after an argument following their last outing together, Rodney hung up his costume seemingly for good.

Fast forward five years, and now Rodney is a promoter for clubs. He has it made. He gets into the best parties, always has the hottest new drugs, and life seems to be going great for him.

Right?

Well, it seems Rodney's life decisions have caught up with him. Police Detective Brooks has just informed Rodney that the Doberman, his father, was found dead. Thrown from a high building, all the blood drained from his body. Well, as much as he wasn't on speaking terms with his dad, he was still distraught to hear this shocking revelation.

Heading back into his dad's old lair, Rodney now finds himself thrust into his dad's old costume. And he's determined to find his father's killer and bring them to justice. How he does this will determine how he continues his hero career.

The comic was released in January of 2015.

Stray contains examples of:

  • Animal-Themed Superbeing: The Doberman and The Rottweiler are these of the Animal Alias variety. They have no dog-based superpowers, but wear dog-themed costumes and use a variety of tech to help in their campaign.
  • Bald of Evil: One of Doberman's enemies back in his heyday was the Principal, a man who once tried to kill him with a machine that would've dispersed his atoms. He also lectured his minions in a classroom while he had the Doberman at his mercy.
  • Black Eyes of Evil: Mister Macabre has these.
  • Facial Horror: The Doberman's killer(s) has(have) a scar running right down the middle of his(their) face.
  • Fallen Hero: Rodney went from a sidekick to a party promoter who pushes drugs on young partygoes.
  • In the Hood: In one issue, Rodney is trying to get a bunch of people out of a subway car. One of them is wearing a big hoodie to hide that he's really Mister Macabre.
  • It Always Rains at Funerals: It most certainly is at Rodney's dad's funeral.
  • Kid Sidekick: Rodney was one to his dad as The Rottwiler.
  • One-Word Title: Stray, of course.
  • Parent-Child Team: The Doberman and his son Rodney. Sadly, this ended five years ago.
  • Steven Ulysses Perhero: Rodney Weller's alias was The Rottweiler.
  • You Are Grounded!: The Doberman tried to ground Rodney in their fight. Rodney responded by quitting being the Rottweiler.
