Call Forward / Vaguely Recalling JoJo

Go To

Despite adapting Stardust Crusaders and Phantom Blood, Vaguely Recalling JoJo threw in a few gags based on future arcs within JoJo's Bizarre Adventure.

  • One of the Mascots at Polnaland is dressed like Polnareff after his injury in Vento Aureo. Giorno gets into a tug-of-war with the Stand Arrow in the mascot's hand.
  • During the party in the Singapore hotel, Jotaro does the cigarette trick Oingo fails to perform in a later Stardust Crusaders chapter.
  • Steely Dan tells everyone not to confuse his name with the title of Steel Ball Run. Later, Avdol mentions Steel Ball Run during a joke and causes Steely Dan to sneeze.
  • After Joseph explains how his group are able to communicate whilst underwater (i.e. with Hermit Purple's tentacles), he briefly summons another Stand, Grandpa Free (who resembles Plant Man from Mega Man 6), before drowning. This may be a reference to Stone Free, Jolyne Kujo's Stand from Part 6.
  • Bruford calls his Danse Macabre ability Love Deluxe note .
  • A non-vampire Straizo calls Dio's eye beam attack Space Ripper Stingy Eyes and tosses a grenade at the zombies.
  • Jonathan tries using Joseph's deflection trick when dealing with the Space Ripper Stingy Eyes. Sadly, this doesn't save him from his fate.
  • When Kakyoin and Polnareff are driving away after Hol Horse supposedly kills Avdol, Polnareff points out that Kakyoin shouldn't know how to drive, and Kakyoin states that he learned how to drive from playing F-Mega, a reference to the video game that he plays with Telence D'Arby. He almost immediately crashes the car by using the spinning trick he used in the game.
  • The Satellite online avatarPolnareff uses to communicate with the Vento Aureo protagonist group shows up when Joseph uses Hermit Purple and warns that Kakyoin is a traitor.
