Body Horror / Remembrance

Go To

Remembrance, being the wonderful place it is, has plenty of squicky ways to die. Or live. There are far, far too many examples to list on the main page, so they've been sequestered here.

Integrated Holy Weapons

Every single integrated holy weapon counts as body horror to some extent, given the nature of the process.

  • Lily is the most glaring example, as her entire skin was replaced by her weapon in a ludicrously painful, stomach-turning, twelve-hour-long integration.
  • Astarotte is impaled by her holy weapon, which has replaced her heart as well - meaning that when she isn't impaled (when she's using her power,) she's physically dead.
  • Emmery is a particularly disturbing instance, as she has a window in her head to showcase just how much of her brain has been replaced by crystal.
  • Lunete lost her eye to her holy weapon. All the pain of an integrated weapon, with a loss of half her sight on top.
  • Brigitte's "gloves" actually run under her skin, and her fingernails are sharp crystals. One shudders to think of what happens if someone tugs at the wires that make that transition.
  • Ambrosia/Conrad's is a double dose, because not only are they a part of her flesh, that flesh belongs to somebody else.
  • Martyr's weapon is stabbed through her body, with all the unpleasantness that entails, and operates similarly to Astarotte's to boot.
  • Changer. Not only is her holy weapon embedded in her forehead, it physically overwrites her appearance when it's used (instead of creating an illusion.) It was also forced on her at a young age, and the process was incredibly traumatic for everyone involved.
  • Eilyth, though it doesn't seem to be particularly horrifying to her personally.
  • Kallisto's shield is fused to her arm.

Holy Weapon Powers

  • Marionette's weapon exclusively creates body horror, being that its function is to move body parts from one person to another.
    • Shown grotesquely with her disassembly of Verna, who loses the front of her torso, several internal organs, and half of her face.
