• The Unbearable Lightness of Being: A Czech woman tries to get a promiscuous doctor to settle down, befriending his mistress along the way. The couple then flee from a military invasion and die in a car accident.
• The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent: Broke actor accepts a rich fan's invitation to visit him. And then things get ugly.
• Unbreakable: A skeptical security guard becomes a superhero under the tutelage of a crippled comic book geek. The latter turns out to be a terrorist.
• Uncut Gems: A Jewish jewelery salesman goes insane while trying to protect a rock.
• Undercover Brother: Seventies blaxploitation cliche battles white supremacist who has uncontrollable urge to use hip-hop slang.
• Under Siege: Ship's cook slaughters the catering staff and entertainers on the captain's birthday.

• Unknown (2011): Man decides the role he's playing is more important than the plot of the thing he's acting in.
• Unstoppable: Two men will be fired if they try to catch a train.
• The Untouchables (1987): Four men wage war upon a mobster. He's eventually caught for unpaid taxes.
• Up: Old man trying to cope with his wife's death kills his childhood hero and steals his pets and vehicle. He leaves his house in Venezuela.
• Up in the Air: Man embarks on an epic quest...to get a bunch of frequent flyer miles. Somehow, it's not boring.
  • Alternatively, man who isolates himself from everyone in his life and doesn't really care about anyone is forced to mentor a young woman. Both of them make money off of firing people with little remorse about it, and their actions indirectly lead to someone getting killed. It's a comedy, and we're supposed to sympathize with both of these people.
  • Or, a fully-grown adult man learns that caring about people is a Good Thing™.
• Us: Mutes dress like Michael Jackson, test some scissors, and eventually hold hands.
• The Usual Suspects: Inconsistent testimonies of a crime leave the police as confused as the audience.
