With every awesome show comes Awesome Music, and Hawaii Five-0 is no exception.


  • "Gracious" by C'mon in the season 1 episode "Mana'o". For once, Danny gets to drive his own car, while Steve is relegated to shotgun status. As far as Torture for Fun and Information goes, their suspect is tied to the hood of his car while driving through the streets of Honolulu in a non-verbal Shout-Out to Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas.
  • "The Heart" by Needtobreathe plays at the end of "Na Hala a Ka Makua (Sins of the Father)". After a bittersweet end to the case where the escaped convict is posthumously cleared of the charges against him, the team (including Grover) celebrates. After grounding his daughter Grace, Donny apologizes and brings her to the restaurant where the rest of the crew are.
  • "All for One" by Five For Fighting is the background music at the end of "Ina Paha", portraying a montage of flashbacks, highlighting the familial bond of the Five-0 Task Force.
  • "Hoa 'Inea", the Valentine's Day Episode. While it features new songs by Coldplay, there are other complementary music to highlight the ups and downs of each of the member's relationships in a hilarious manner.
    • Lou Grover is out golfing with Chef Morimoto. Grover forgets to treat his wife to a lovely dinner. He hauls ass, stops by the convenient store to get some flowers and a cheap box of chocolates. Cue "Jungle Boogie" by Kool & the Gang. He shows up to the door in a blue velvet suit, and still in his golf shoes, shows up at the door with flowers and chocolate. Renee kicks him out.
    • Coldplay - "Amazing Day". Chin Ho Kelley is treating Abby to a last minute sexy dinner with champagne in bed. Enter Abby, who freaks out and hastily runs out. Chin tries to follow her and gets locked out of the room. He is forced to go to the receptionist wearing nothing but a towel and he encounters Duke and his wife.
    • "Birds". The crew have a bite at Kamekona's shrimp truck, where Steve decides to explain the black eye.
    • Joe Cocker - "You Can Leave Your Hat On". After the whole ordeal with Steve and Lyn with the latter discovering his engagement ring, all is forgiven and later that night, she invokes the aforementioned trope. In the process, as she kicks off her heels, one of them hits Steve in the eye.
    • "Everglow" plays while the guys spend better times with their loved ones, while Kono is watching her wedding with Adam, silently weeping.
  • "Honolulu" by The Everly Brothers plays behind aerial shots of Honolulu, followed by a relaxing brunch with McGarrett and Max in 6x24, with McGarrett telling Max how proud he is of him for joining Doctors Without Borders and helping those outside of home.
  • The season 7 premiere features "You Can't Catch Me" by Chuck Berry, where Steve and Danny engage in a wheelchair race in the hospital. Steve manages to win because he somehow cheated.
  • Kristin Diable's "Honey, Leave the Light On" in "Ke Ku'Ana" (The Stand). Kono and Adam are finally reunited after the latter is released from prison. They are overjoyed to see each other.
  • One scene in the Halloween Episode has "Werewolves of London" by Warren Zevon. Here, Jerry and Charly, Danny's son, are carving pumpkins, getting into the Halloween spirit.
  • "Ua ho'i ka 'opua i Awalua" features an acoustic rendition of "All Good Things" by Jackson Browne. In Masi Oka's final episode, we are treated to Max's farewell party, along with a montage of flashbacks, with the concluding shot consisting of the whole ohana.
