Awesome Music / Fate/stay night [Unlimited Blade Works]

Go To

Although there are people who think this is the weakest OST in the franchise so far, most agree it still manages to pull off some pretty awesome tracks.

  • The first opening, "Ideal White" by Mashiro Ayano, starts off the first season just perfectly.
  • "Brave Shine" by Aimer (OP2) is probably one of the most kickass 2015 spring anime songs with an epic intro, catchy lyrics, and well-executed drop.
  • The Main Theme, "Unlimited Blade Works". The main riff appears in several forms throughout the soundtrack, and it kicks tons of ass.
  • "Fist of desperate ~ Awakening", the theme that sounds during the first fight against Kuzuki, when Shirou performs projection magic. It's all kinds of tense and epic.
  • The main leitmotifs of Fate/Zero make a comeback in "count it from zero" and "down in the zero", and they're just as epic.
  • Season 1 closes with a fantastic new version of "This Illusion", a theme from the visual novel, this time performed by LiSA. The visuals and music just left you wanting to see Season 2 as soon as possible.
  • "EMIYA" (Shirou's and Archer's leitmotif), the most iconic theme in the entire franchise, comes back in a new version: "EMIYA_UBW". Fans were delighted, and automatically became one of the top contenders for the "Best Version of the Theme" title. Even though some people felt it was misused in its first appearances during Episodes 19-to-21, it had its chance to shine properly during the Final Battle in Episode 24. And it was glorious!
  • "Last Stardust", the Insert Song used in Episode 20 after Shirou finds the will to challenge Archer's beliefs. A beautiful track which fully encapsulates Shirou's ideals. It was originally going to be the second season opening before they went with "Brave Shine". This (fan made) English version is amazing too, with the lyrics perfectly fitting Shirou's character.
  • Episode 24 is chock full of remixed music from the original visual novel. Apart from "EMIYA", it also has a slow, instrumental version of "This Illusion," "Sword of Promised Victory" and "New Dawn".
  • As if the use of "This Illusion" in the end credits of the first season wasn't epic enough, the credits for the second season comes with an amazing remix of "Deep Slumber", which fittingly enough is the very first thing you hear when playing the Visual Novel for the first time.
