- Each of the six bodyguards has two potential Awesome Moments depending on which path you take through the game: one in which they face down and defeat Kasumimaru, and one in which they defeat Nobumasa. Of particular note:
- Cute little Yo kicks Kasumimaru's arm off at the shoulder in Mon-Mon's path.
- Bo psychoanalyzes Ittosai into a Heroic BSoD. And, once he's been pushed far enough past his usual distaste for bloodshed, cuts Nobumasa in half vertically.
- Ittosai doesn't kill Nobumasa himself, but he makes up for it by being the only one of the six who's not fazed for a moment by Kasumimaru's spell of blindness, as well as being the only one of the six who manages to dodge the hallucinogen that Harumoto throws.
