  • Kiryu singlehandedly beating the Tojo Clan in his chapter. To put this in perspective, the Yahata family, a local Yakuza group, and Tojo clan have been forced into a conflict, and a battle between the two is looking inevitable, when all of a sudden, Kiryu, who at the time is just a normal taxi driver, volunteers to fight in the battle. Being the former fourth chairman of the Tojo clan, they believe that he will help them, only for him to say that he's going to help them by preventing them from walking town the wrong path, volunteering to fight the Tojo Clan to prevent the war. As in, every single member of the Tojo clan who is fighting in the war. When Aoyama, who has usurped the Tojo clan in Daigo's absence, mocks Kiryu for his simple thought process, Watase, his accomplice, smacks him in the face and ushers Kiryu to go through with it. Kiryu then proceeds to decimate the entire Clan, some of whom have guns and sledgehammers, all by himself. And at the end of it all, Aoyama is reduced to a shriveling mess and left to Kiryu's mercy.
    • Every time The War Sequence is going to commence in the final chapter of every game is always awesome. The fifth game though takes the badassery up a notch. During the aforementioned ass kicking of the entire Tojo Clan, the bad guys decided to shoot 2 ROCKETS at Kiryu. So what did Kiryu do in this case? Did he dodge them? Did he punch the rockets? NOPE! He gave a Death Glare to the rockets, causing them to MISS KIRYU COMPLETELY, and blow up the cars behind him, while he just shrugs it off as if it's nothing and continues the beatdown.
    • Something worth noting is that Kiryu is barely winded by the end of this fight, and judging by the expressions of the clan on the other side, he probably could've taken them too.
      • One person sums it up pretty well by quoting Tanimura:
"There are some men in this city who will take on a hundred guys if they have to." - Masayoshi Tanimura, Yakuza 4
  • Saejima isn't one to be outdone in regards to beating massive groups of Mooks, either. He gets into a slugfest with a huge group of prisoners led by Kugihara, and at one point, he pulls an exhaust pipe off the walls with his bare hands. It proves an effective weapon, as the poor group of saps that got caught in its swing can attest. And then one more Mook gets flattened with it when Saejima is finished. Saejima's bulk is clearly NOT just for show.
  • You thought Saejima's big Moment of Awesome was in the previous game when he lashed out at the audience? He gets ANOTHER moment in Yakuza 5 when he faces off against a giant bear in an extreme blizzard...and wins. And it was just moments after being thrown off of a snowmobile during a prison break!
    • One of the best moments from said fight is when Saejima gets tossed up into the air, turns himself around on the descent and delivers a massive HEAT-charged punch to the bear's face!
    • This means we've now faced off against Lions, Tigers and Bears!note
  • Haruka gets one when Kanai first appears before Akiyama with a gun, who she disarms by throwing a fire extinguisher on his head from high above. At the end of the fight against him, she'll throw another one to Akiyama to use for the final blow.
  • At the end of the Victory Road tournament, after Kiryu defeats Raiden, he delivers a fantastic "The Reason You Suck" Speech to his fallen opponent.
Raiden: I-I don't understand. How could I have lost to someone like you? Your country... it's soft and weak!
Kiryu: You can survive any number of living hells, but that's not the only thing that makes a man stronger.
    Raiden: What do you mean?
Kiryu: You're obsessed with your tortured past. But true strength is more than that.
Raiden: What a load of bullshit! How could a candy-ass like you know what I've been through?!
Kiryu: You're just another fool who wears his misfortunes like a badge of honor. This country's full of 'em.
    Raiden: Why you—!
Kiryu: Fools like you want to make others suffer just like they did. And they always seek to victimize those who are weaker than themselves. Parents beat their kids, and say it's because they were abused as children. Swindlers claim they were victims of fraud. But true strength means overcoming such misery, not perpetuating it. [walks off] You'll never defeat me as long as you think your suffering gives you a right to make others miserable, too.
  • The finale is the game's Heartwarming Moments and Tear Jerker, with an incredible dose of Back for the Finale.
    • The beginning of the end, where Kiryu, Akiyama, Saejima, and Shinada face off against a huge army of Yakuza. They may have numbers on their side, but the four protagonists are each a One-Man Army by themselves.
    • After Saejima beats Majima, they refuse to kill each other on Kurosawa's orders, which prompts him to make the call to kill Haruka, but Baba's unable to go through with it. Shinada arrives at the dome shortly after Baba tries to leave, and after the two fight, Baba tries to use the gun on himself, but it's knocked out of his hands not by Shinada, but by Himura, who is accompanied by Oshima and Kosaka, who all talk some sense into him. Shinada seems somewhat envious that Baba has friends and a place he can go back to, when he receives a call from Takasugi telling him that Milky is offering him special service at a discount, and everyone in Kiniecho misses him, causing him to break down in Tender Tears.
    • Back on Millenium Tower, Kurosawa tries to shoot Saejima and Majima, when his gun's shot out of his hand by Daigo (who is accompanied by Katsuya), and the rest of his men are quickly gunned down, leaving the dying Chairman to surrender. Kiryu heads off when they learn the Tojo Clan HQ is in trouble while Akiyama takes care of Kanai and several of his men. After the fight, Kanai tells Akiyama that he's expecting backup, but it's not who he expects: Madarame, Kitakata and Watase all arrive with their families, having taken out his backup. Kanai surrenders, and after Watase tells Akiyama the Omi Alliance bows to no one, he makes an exception and gets on his hands and knees to express his gratitude, and everyone else follows suit.
    • Special mention has to go to the final battle. Kiryu fights Aizawa, who has been revealed to be Kurosawa's son. It was planned for him to take control of the Tojo Clan and Omi Alliance once Kurosawa's plan had been carried out, but now he just wants a fight with Kiryu to prove his worth. What ensues is one beast of a fight, starting with one of the most epic cross counter shots ever. As Kiryu and Aizawa fight, they gradually move towards a balcony which Aizawa kicks Kiryu off of to try and punch him in mid-air. Succeed in the QTE and Kiryu will dodge the punch, spin around, grab Aizawa's head, and slam him into the ground. The fight ends up outside on the snowy exterior of the Tojo Clan HQ. And as the fight nears its end, Aizawa begins regenerating his health. And Aizawa has a LONG health bar. How long is it? Well, you're normally lucky if you can get one Heat Climax attack in on a boss if you don't have the gauge filled up most of the way. For this fight, you can walk in with a full Climax gauge, use a Heat Climax attack at the very beginning, and if you keep using heat attacks throughout the fight, you may very well get a second one in. Everything from the QTE's to the music to Aizawa's brutal fighting style make this fight work wonderfully.
    • Finally, after Kiryu's fight with Aizawa, Haruka stops in the middle of her concert to give the audience a heartwarming speech about what she's had to sacrifice to pursue her career, including her family, and her real dream is to find happiness with those closest to her - all while most of the surviving cast are watching from the audience, the back of the stadium, or on TV in the streets.
