Along with bloody violence and extreme adult jokes laying around the film, there are a lot of shining examples of how awesome this movie is.

     Ambush at the beach

  • Despite being set up entirely as a distraction, Squad A has a few moments of competence before they meet their unfortunate ends.
    • Savant is shown bouncing a rubber ball in his cell and catching it without watching. He even kills a bird by bouncing it off all of the walls.
    • The shot of the Squad with the USA flag as a background. Incredibly cheesy... but undeniably awesome. The music helps too.
    • Boomer and Harley are veterans in this game and it shows. While the rest of the team is nervous to some degree, they spend their time at flight fucking around with the rest of the team and having some laughs at their expense.
    • The team diving in the Corto-Maltese waters, accompanied by a kick-ass metal track... at least until Weasel drowns.
    • Blackguard getting a special Boom, Headshot! after trying to sell the team out. It comes across as a Nightmare Fuel moment, but the quick shot of the bloody hole in his face would bring delight to those who don't like him and immediately show that this movie isn't holding back.
    • Despite Blackguard's betrayal, Harley and Boomerang take the arrival of an entire army in stride. Boomer slices the head off of two guys with his signature weapon, and Harley makes effective use of a bazooka, all while dodging a massive rain of bullets.
    • Rick Flag doesn't lose his cool either, and pushes on despite the huge disadvantage, killing some enemies in the meanwhile.
    • Even though it resulted in Boomerang's and her deaths and she realizes she fucked it up immediately, Mongal manages to bring down a helicopter and sends it right into the path of unlucky soldiers, making it one of the deadliest kills of the opening. In a darkly, ironic way, Mongal - being a Proud Warrior Race Guy - might have gone out in the way she may want it to be; bringing the helicopter down and getting it to explode in a fiery fashion. It is a badass sight to see, and no less foolish and terrifying.
    • Boomerang's death. Knowing he's thoroughly fucked, even though he did his best, he throws a final smile at Harley before being shredded to pieces by the helicopter's blades. His dismembered arm is seen triumphantly standing up in the opening credits montage, shining boomerang held aloft.

     Introducing: The B Squad

  • Bloodsport is introduced as a one-man army who apparently put Superman in the ICU with a kryptonite bullet. This is the same man who forced Batman to go through a massive amount of planning and even momentarily put him on the ropes, just for Batman to have a chance at killing him. We don't know how Dubois managed to get the drop on him, but whatever happened, it must have been a tale for the ages.
  • A small one for Waller. When she threatens to send his daughter to Belle Reve, Bloodsport goes nuclear. He quickly picks up a pen and points it to Waller's neck after he finds out Waller is threatening his daughter to get his help. The woman is unflinching as she's being threatened and roars out "STAND DOWN!" to get her support team to drop their weapons. They don’t call her "The Wall" for nothing.
  • Polka Dot Man's Adaptational Superpower Change: in the comics, he wielded a modified suit with polka-dots that were actually miniaturized gadgets. The film has him be a test subject for interdimensional energy.
  • King Shark tries to eat Ratcatcher II. Bloodsport quickly picks up his modular firearm and shoots at him again and again, until he pushes him against a tree.
    • Despite being shot multiple times with a high-caliber gun, Nanaue is shown to be scratchless at the end of this.
    • Cleo shows that she is not as gentle-looking as she seems to be as upon being told she was nearly eaten, she simply glares at King Shark and turns on her device to intimidate him with an army of rats that suddenly appeared in the jungle as a warning.
    • Through a combination of intimidation and appealing to his loneliness, Cleo manages to befriend King Shark and make him promise that he won't eat anyone on the team. Despite the disbelief of Dubois and Peacemaker, Nanaue never attempts to eat anyone on the team again. Goes to show how a bit of compassion can go long ways.
  • Their (incredibly misguided) attempt at rescuing Rick Flag has some of these:
    • King Shark eats a soldier whole. Incredibly scary, but awesome too.
    • Bloodsport and Peacemaker find themselves having an impromptu Body-Count Competition where the duo attempts to one up the other while clearing the camp of any potential resistance. Peacemaker opens up with slaughtering two guards with a hatchet and machete respectively before Bloodsport saves Peacemaker by silently killing three more guards with his armor's slingshot then using a garotte wire to strangle one more poor sap while his back was turned. Incensed, Peacemaker casually chops down another standing guard and a man who was sleeping nearby in quick succession. So Bloodsport one ups that by deploying his armor's Epic Flail to savagely beat down three more guards. Peacemaker then takes to higher ground with a Blow Gun to snipe three more people before coming down to ground level to find Bloodsport incinerating two men with a freaking wrist-mounted flamethrower. So Peacemaker cuts Bloodsport off by shooting a man across the camp through the heart with his silenced Hand Cannon - a guy whose dick is in full view, no less. Bloodsport then takes off his helmet, gives Peacemaker a Death Glare before shooting out the leg of a table also across the camp, causing an electric fan to fall into the bathtub of a bathing guerrilla soldier, electrocuting the guy to death. So Peacemaker decides to put an end to their little game by pulling off an Offhand Backshot to hit a guard a significant distance away in the shoulder, leading to this golden exchange:
      Bloodsport: Non-lethal. You lose.
      Peacemaker: Exploding Compression Bullets.
Bloodsport: [sees the guard suddenly explode into Ludicrous Gibs] No one likes a show-off.
Peacemaker: Unless what they're showing off is dope as fuck.
Bloodsport: [turns away, mutters to self] Fuck. That's true.
      • Bonus points for none of their kills seemingly raising any alarms or alerting any guards, even in scenarios where the guards really should have been able to hear/see the two of them coming.
    • The squad members (and the audience) first get to see Polka-Dot Man's powers in action. Up to this point, his ability has been described in vague terms and the other characters have mostly treated him like a joke. But at the end of the fight, he uses his dots to effortlessly collapse a guard tower with a flick of his arm, and kills the two guards on top of it. Even Peacemaker is impressed, if a little baffled.
    • It was a massive fuck-up, but Bloodsport and Peacemaker managed to kill the entirety of the insurgent camp basically by themselves.

     The infiltration of Corto Maltese

  • Starro is shown in all its comic-book glory. While it would have been considered a joke in the hands of a less competent director, here it carries an unquestionably intimidating aura, and is earnestly shown to have power that both the Corto-Maltese government and the USA want to exploit.
  • Once Rick, Bloodsport, and Peacemaker are taken in by Suarez's men shortly after making contact with the Thinker, the Colonel riding with them in an armored transport gloats that they'll all soon be joining their friend Harley Quinn, who will likely die during her interrogation, and offers the three men One Last Smoke before their mutual demise. Bloodsport however, has this to say:
    Bloodsport: Dim Mak.
    Colonel: Qué?
Bloodsport: That's the Cantonese term for it. In Japan it's Kyushojitsu. In English, it is simply the Death Touch, how to kill a man with a single blow.
Colonel: Of course it's possible to kill a man with a single blow. But it's a matter of chance, and cannot be wielded with certainty.
    Bloodsport: That's what they say.
    Colonel: ..."They"?
    Bloodsport: Amateurs.
    Peacemaker: On one?
    Flag: One.
    • Cue Bloodsport, Flag, and Peacemaker simultaneously jumping into action to take out the Colonel and his men in a single move before turning their attention to the drivers. The trio succeeds in crashing the transport while losing the other trucks in the convoy pursuing them, allowing them to escape and proudly reunite with the rest of their Squad.
    • Not only that, it shows that Bloodsport trusts so much in Chris and Rick in skills that he just knew they'd be able to pull off The Touch Of Death flawlessly.
    • It also serves to remind the audience that, as deranged and kooky as these people might be, they aren't amateurs. They're professionals.

     Harley Quinn fights back

     Jotunheim

  • The initial assault to get into Jotunheim has all of the squad (other than Milton) annihilating the soldiers in gruesome ways without a single attack hitting them through the blinding rain. Special points go to Rick Flag blasting two guys with a shotgun, and King Shark grabbing the last one and tearing him in half with a roar as lighting strikes behind him.
  • Because of his underutilized roles and bland personality as stated by the detractors of Suicide Squad (2016), Rick Flag was completely overhauled and his personality became more likable and faithful to the comic version. Not only did he take a level of badass in terms of combat, but has also proven himself to be one of the most formidable members in the Suicide Squad, which was further reinforced by his Dying Moment of Awesome fighting Peacemaker.
  • The fight between Flag and Peacemaker is excellent, with the cool shot of the fight reflected in his helmet. Plus Flag’s final words to Peacemaker deliver quite the punch that isn’t shaken off:
Flag: "Peacemaker..." [scoffs] What a joke.
  • Referencing their previous argument about whether smaller bullets let you be more precise, Bloodsport wins a simultaneous quick-draw duel with Peacemaker by firing straight through the center of his .50 AE hollow point in mid-air, shattering it.
    • A Freeze-Frame Bonus shows that not only does it shatter the bullet, it ends up going through the barrel of Peacemaker's gun and blows it apart, before finally hitting him in the neck. Put together, these facts mean both characters shot absolutely dead-on, straight down the line at each other, gun aimed at gun, simultaneously and essentially they're both equally as skilled and awesome as each other. It was only Bloodsport's superior choice of ammo which gave him the edge.
  • The live-action appearance of Starro the Conqueror, a Starfish Alien and villain to the Justice League. It appears in a cute little starfish form floating around in space, then reveals its true colors by shooting off countless extensions of itself, which facehug whatever's nearest to it.
    • Its revenge on the Thinker for being his prisoner is gruesome but satisfying.
  • Surprisingly, General Suarez and his troops pull a Last Villain Stand when Starro breaks free. Unlike the Thinker, they go down firing away at the giant starfish and its spawn, and even as his men die around him, Suarez takes his death in stride, calmly removing his hat before a spawn assimilates him.

The Suicide Squad vs. Starro the Conqueror
  • When the survivors of Task Force X prepare to save Corto Maltese from Starro against Waller's orders, she absolutely loses it, threatening to execute them on the spot for going off-mission while roaring profanities at them, all while her subordinates watch in horror. Just when Waller is about to press the button, Flo Crawley brains her with a golf club and has the rest of Waller's team work with the Squad to help save the city.
  • The Squad's final battle with Starro has a few highlights:
Ratcatcher: This city is not yours. This city is not ours. This city is THEIRS!
    • Harley jumping in and breaking through Starro's eye with the javelin while the rats enter and go to town on Starro's insides.
    • Bloodsport urging Polka-Dot Man to attack Starro by telling him that Starro is his mother (and Polka-Dot Man becoming the first character to actually injure the Kaiju). Doubles as Funny Moments.

     Epilogue
  • Really, Sol Soria and her resistance team heed Flag's advice of storming the government house when the soldiers left it defenseless when distracted by the squad. They are able to confront the remaining generals, and shoot all of them dead to put an end to the dictatorship regime, liberating her country from the iron fist that overruled it for 30 years. While it is up in the air of how they will be able to recover from Starro's attack, it is clear that they are free and able to rebuild their country.
Sol Soria: Generales, nosotros, el pueblo de Corto Maltese hemos tomado el poder del estado. Bajen la guardia. note
    • As a bonus, Bloodsport's daughter hears about this from the news and learn that he has helped liberate the country to a degree. This not only shows that he is willing to help those in distress, but contributes to freeing the country from its tyrannical state.
  • Waller is forced to take her loss on the chin as DuBois threatens to expose the U.S. government's involvement in Project Starfish, and her own team is also implicitly safe, despite the Death Glare she gives them afterwards.
  • During The Stinger, it is revealed that Peacemaker is alive but heavily injured. It is quite impressive because not only does that means that he survived being shot in the neck, but also survive getting crushed by the building the moment Starro emerges out of its prison.
