- To elaborate: Jack has tricked Scott into evoking the Escape Clause and stopped him from putting on the suit, in turn becoming Santa in the present. So what does Scott do? Well, with some help from his family in the alternate timeline, he does the exact same thing to Jack, sending them both back in time (again) to the day when Scott took the place of the previous Santa. This time, however, Scott overpowers Jack and is able to allow his past self to put on Santa's suit. He even gives a short, but epic, "The Reason You Suck" Speech to Jack just as things are made right again.Jack: I want that coat!
Scott: Why? Because you make such a great Santa? Because all the Elves love ya? Because all the people you took money from, they love ya? Being Santa is not something you can take. It's something that chooses you! (watches as his past self puts on the coat) And you're too late!
Jack: NOOOOOOOO!!!!
