  • "Riu Chiu" - The Monkees singing the 16th Century Spanish Christmas Carol as the ending tag for their Christmas Episode. Just the four of them (with a candle and incense) completely live-to-camera, harmonized AND A Cappella! No editing...just pure performance perfection.
  • The show could occasionally contain a bit of gratuitous educational content in the form of introducing children to music by respected guest artists. At the tail end "The Frodis Caper", a young man with a huge puff of impossibly frizzy hair played guitar and sang a mournful love ballad, beautifully. The ballad was "Song to the Siren", and the artist was the great Tim Buckley.
  • The legendary argument between Mike Nesmith and Don Kirschner over the band's lack of creative control, which resulted in the former punching a hole in the wall and telling Kirschner "That could have been your face, motherfucker!"
