- In episode 3 an Angel is kicking Shinji and Rei's butts when Asuka comes along, holds the alien back before pushing it away, and then the three of them kill it.
- Shinji kicking the bathroom's door to save Asuka's life.
- In episode 7 Rei manages to kill an Angel on her own.
- Right when Gendo is carrying out his scheme, Rei shows up in berserker Mama Bear full mode, slams him with her AT Field, says she rather would obey Misato because she is more human than him and shortly after trips him.
