  • The cast’s performance are dead-ringers for the original voice actors at points. Joe Collins' Percy sounds more like Percy than Taliesin Jaffe. Spencer C. Smith as Victor during “(Please Don’t) Blow Us All Away” is an One-Scene Wonder that sounds so much like Matthew Mercer it seemed like audio from the show was used. Dylan McCollum brings an overwhelming obnoxiousness to Tary from his very first lines that makes Vox Machina's instant dislike of him just click for listeners, on his own merit and not just because the original stream's cast and viewers were stunned by Sam Riegel's about-face after Scanlan's blowup and exit.
  • The sheer scope and scale of the first project, a whopping 47 songs that not only adapts but enhances the plot of the Chroma Conclave arc, filled with references back to Critical Role and Hamilton. "Vox Machina" clocked in at 2 hours 25 minutes and 47 songs (as it's a sung-through musical).
    • "Doty, Take This Down" surpasses "Vox Machina", for being a full musical with a runtime of 3 hours 13 minutes and 51 scenes. The dialogue scenes are original to the show.
  • Sam Riegel asked for a musical to be made with melodies from Dear Evan Hansen, but the group had already anticipated this request and was already working on it when Sam brought it up on a panel.
