Awesome / Ronin (1998)

• Gregor's trick with the Jeep to throw off the aim of the passenger holding him at gunpoint, followed by the blood on the window as he retaliates, has to be one of the most memorably cool few seconds of the film.
• The elaborate car chases spread out across the film:
  • The race down a night-dark Paris street eluding police after escaping an ambush with gun-runners;
  • The attempt to retrieve the MacGuffin by car ambush;
  • The chase between Sam and Vincent against Dierdre, Seamus, and a captured Gregor through the traffic-congested highways and tunnels of a French city... in oncoming traffic.
• Sam's self-surgery to remove a bullet. Once the bullet's out and the wound is sewn up: "If you don't mind, I'm gonna pass out."
• Sam ambushing Spence with a cup of coffee. He's unarmed, and he manages to get the drop on Spence, who has his gun. Even better when you realize that Sam already knows Spence is a Miles Gloriosus after Spence's disastrous handling of the weapons buy. When Spence comes up with a pathetic plan for getting the case, showing he learned nothing from his near-death, Sam has had enough. He goes out of his way to humiliate Spence: (a) to let Deirdre know she needs to kick Spence to the curb before his incompetence gets everyone killed, and (b) because Sam is pissed at Spence for being so dangerously stupid.
