From her ashes like a Phoenix

Red Daughter Of Krypton was full of awesome moments:

  • The concept itself: Red Lantern Kryptonian. Obscenely overpowered and scary like Hell? Definitely. Completely awesome? Definitely.
  • The story starts out (in Supergirl #28) when Supergirl, who has just been hurt by Lobo, shouts that she's done with people hurting her and using her, and pummels him. Keep in mind that Lobo is very tough.
  • In the next issue, Siobhan tries to reach her friend out when Kara has gone nuts. After her negotiation skills fail, she lets Silver Banshee out... and she manages to control her evil side! And she even keeps up with Supergirl for a short while!
  • In Green Lantern/Red Lanterns #29, a bunch of Greens and Reds managed to take down and hold a Kryptonian. At the same time, Supergirl was powerful enough to fight a bunch of power ring bearers at once. And she was holding back!
  • In Red Lanterns #30 Supergirl makes her cousin and her then-current teammates clear that she's tired of people making plans about her without thinking about what she wants. And then Superman reminds her that she complains about feeling lonely the whole time even though he's always been there for her.
Superman: You know what, Kara? Ever since you showed up on Earth, you've been trying to get me to do one thing — leave you alone to let you live your own life. You've been so focused on just being angry — yes, you lost your home, and that's terrible, but you can't bring it back.
    Supergirl: What are you saying?
Superman: You've been choosing anger instead of acceptance for so long that you've become anger. You want to be your own person? Good. Be your own person. I just hope you like who you turn out to be.
  • In Supergirl #30, the Red Lanterns help the Graxians fight back against the Diasporan army. Supergirl punches an enemy across a city, uses a Diasporan like a bat to bash his comrades with, and blows their ships up with several bursts of heat vision, making the whole army panic and leave the planet.
  • In Supergirl #31, Alura In-Ze shows she's a Mama Bear. When Sheko tries to mind rape her daughter, a figment of a memory of Alura blocks the Red Lantern's mind probes and throws her out of Kara's mind:
Sheko: You... You can see me?
Alura: OF COURSE I can see you. Now GET OUT of our home!
    Sheko: Who are you...?
Alura: Alura Zor-El! Praetor of Argo City! And you trespass at your peril!
  • Supergirl #33 is a long awesome moment for Supergirl: fighting Worldkiller-1 using strength, strategy and cunning, protecting innocent people at any cost, giving up her Red Ring, being restored to her true self by the Sun, and kicking the crap out of Worldkiller-1.
