  • His show-stealing match with Ricky "The Dragon" Steamboat at WrestleMania 3 for the Intercontinental Championship. As in one-of-the-greatest-matches-of-all-time show-stealing. And this was at the same event as the legendary Hogan vs Andre match.
    • This is arguably more impressive when you learn that the pair had meticulously planned the match a month in advance, in an industry where "on the fly" spots are more used.
    • The promo he delivers beforehand was pure awesome too. "History beckons the Macho Man", indeed.
  • Beating Butch Reed, Greg "The Hammer" Valentine, One Man Gang, And The "Million Dollar Man" Ted Dibiase in one night to win the WWE title at WrestleMania IV for the first time.
  • Beating Ric Flair at WrestleMania VIII to win the WWE Championship for a 2nd time is up there, too.
  • His incredibly savvy method of winning his stipulation match against Crush at WrestleMania X: he strung him up to a coat rack after pinning him in a modified Falls Count Anywhere match so he couldn't make it back to the ring before the count of 60. Crush's struggling when he came to resulted in this becoming a Crowning Moment of Funny, to boot.
  • Saving Marty Jannetty from being arrested after he had a nasty brawl with Shawn Michaels by convincing the police officers that the whole fight was part of a wrestling angle.
  • His Slim Jim commercials. Many of them involved a Dynamic Entry, mixed with Incoming Ham that really sells the product as exciting.
  • According to Chris Jericho, technical issues during a WCW event meant that a tag team match between Kevin Nash and Scott Hall vs. Savage and Sting would not have any entrance music for either team. Nash and Hall refused to go out to the ring with no music, but Savage went out first, saying "I don't give a shit if there's music or not, I'm going to the ring!" forcing the match to take place.
  • Savage's Face–Heel Turn on Hogan in 1989 is a villainous moment of awesome, from walking out on Hogan during a match with the Twin Towers, to "The Reason You Suck" Speech in the emergency room in the back, featuring the famous line "Those eyes lust Elizabeth!!!" to Savage absolutely pounding the shit out of Hogan right in front of her. The intensity - not to mention the build to this moment - made this one of the most famous heel turns of all time.
    • The promo he did for WrestleMania V, where he calls out Hogan for this, along with his grandstanding and hotdogging, is full of anger and intensity that really sells the angle, culminating in Savage telling that he hates Hogan's guts and that that's all that's going to be left of Hogan when he's done with him.
  • The moment we thought would never come.
    • To truly put this one into perspective: A lot of casual fans were more surprised by the fact that Savage was only just being inducted into the Hall of Fame in 2015. He was so integral to wrestling history as a whole that people everywhere just assumed he'd already been inducted years before note .
  • When Shawn Michaels and Razor Ramon went on for too long with their ladder match at WrestleMania X (i.e. deliberately ignoring the referee's cues to end the match), it caused a 10-man tag team match to be bumped from the card. Despite not being part of the cancelled match, Savage confronted Michaels and Razor when they came backstage and yelled at them for being unprofessional and costing the 10 guys a Wrestlemania payday.
  • He got to beat up Spider-Man! How many wrestlers can say that? Drax didn't even lay a hand on Spidey!
  • His promo against Jake Roberts after Jake slapped Elizabeth. The entire promo is filled with Unstoppable Rage, It's Personal, and It Has Only Just Begun, with Savage promising to get Revenge and show Jake just how dark he can get.
    • Also, the sheer utter balls in letting himself get legitimately bitten by an actual (de-venomed) cobra.
