• Precious fighting back against her mother at last, punching, pushing, and kicking for her sake and for the sake of her newborn baby. Though, she ends up getting hit in the back of the head by an object from Mary, tumbling down a staircase, and narrowly avoiding having a TV set dropped on her head by Mary. But still, it's a pretty cathartic moment.
  • Precious standing her ground once Mary accuses her of being stupid and ruining her life since she spilled the beans and cut them off from welfare, but the final straw is when Mary blames her for “taking” her man.
  I AIN’T STUPID and l didn't take your man; YOUR HUSBAND RAPED ME!
• The final meeting with Ms. Weiss definitely has its moments, especially when it all sinks in to Mary over the horrible human being she is, and Ms. Weiss letting her know that.

  Ms. Weiss: You shut up and you let him abuse your daughter.

  Mary: I didn’t not want him to abuse my daughter. I did not want him to hurt her-

  Ms. Weiss: But you ALLOWED him to hurt her!

  • Precious’ final goodbye to Mary.
  Precious: You know, I never knew what you was until this day. Not even after all them things you did. Maybe I was too stupid. Maybe I just didn't want to. You ain't gonna see me no more.
  • Once Precious and her kids walk out the door and out of Mary’s lives forever, she goes as low as to beg Ms. Weiss to help get them back to her, but Ms. Weiss silently rejects her and walks away.
