Hello Beastie.
  • When Davy Jones first summons the Kraken.
Davy Jones: Let no joyful voice be heard! Let no man look up at the sky with hope! And let this day be cursed by we who ready to wake... THE KRAKEN!
  • Davy Jones' entrance scene.
    "Do you fear death?"
    • Hell, just the sound of his entrance is enough to give the audience an Oh, Crap! moment.
  • A random sailor gets a crowning moment, bravely defying Jones' Deal with the Devil. He’s so terrified that he’s shaking uncontrollably, but he still goes to his death, knowing it’s the better option:
Davy Jones: Do you not fear death?
Sailor: …I'll take my chances, sir.
  • Will Turner finding out where the key was and stealing it from Davy Jones. Pure Guile Hero.
    • Actually, it was BOOTSTRAP who was the Guile Hero. He put himself in a position that Will would never lose. As noted by Lord Ravenscraft, when Will makes a claim that everyone knows is fake, with Evil Gloating by Davy Jones, the latter can't call him a liar, because he can only accuse Bootstrap. Bootstrap makes an insane claim deliberately, forcing Davy to call him a liar, because otherwise if he didn't, Davy would not be able to make any claim less absurd. Lord Ravenscraft also noted that the game showed the personalities of each player perfectly as well.
Bootstrap: Twelve fives!... (to Davy) Twelve fives. Call me a liar or up the bid.
Davy Jones: And be called a liar myself for the trouble? (checks dice) Bootstrap Bill, you're a liar and you will spend an eternity on this ship! (to Will) Master Turner, feel free to go ashore... the very next time we make port!
    • It's also noted in a comment on that video that the Bootstrap's true bluff, the greatest in the game that went unnoticed by either of the other players and uncommented on by the film, was when he said "it's your bid, captain". Jones, who had already dismissed Bootstrap as a threat at this point and was focused entirely on Will (who, as noted below, had managed to beat him once already in a deleted scene), didn't notice that Bootstrap was reversing the usual turn order, making play proceed anticlockwise so that his turn would come after Will, making it impossible for Jones to call Will a liar and rigging the whole game so that his son couldn't possibly lose.
    • In a deleted scene, it turns out there are TWO games of liars dice played. In the first (deleted) game, it's Will and Davy Jones playing one on one with Will playing for the freedom of his father. The two go back and forth trading barbs until Will actually guesses correctly and bests Jones. Jones takes his loss with surprising grace, and just as he's leaving Will challenges him to the second game for the key
Davy Jones: Ye can't best the devil twice, son...
  • The entire three-way swordfight at the climax of Dead Man's Chest, not to mention the two swords, three people fight.
    • As awesome as the swordfight itself is, it's an even bigger Moment of Awesome for editors Stephen Rikvin and Craig Wood. Six different parties (Jack, Will, Norrington, Elizabeth, Ragetti/Pintel and Davy Jones's men), two different Plot Coupons (the chest and the key), as well as several other variables (the waterwheel, and often the weapons and who has them) and somehow it's still easy to tell what's going on.
  • The Pearl outrunning the Dutchman and the crew still puts up one hell of a fight against the Kraken. There's good reason she's one of the most feared ships on the high seas.
  • Jack's return to the Black Pearl after it is attacked by the Kraken before shooting the gunpowder and rum to damage the Kraken's tentacles
  • Jack facing down the Kraken, alone. For all that he'll lie, cheat, and manipulate to avoid death, when he's finally looking it in the face with no way out, there isn't even a hint of fear in him.
    "Hello, beastie."
  • Norrington, formerly the completely straight-laced navy man, manages to con Jack Sparrow—and everyone else—and make it look like an act of heroic self-sacrifice to boot, escaping with the heart while getting Jack and Davy Jones to each believe that they have it. Probably the finest act of trickery in the films, and done by the last person you'd expect.
    • In Tortuga, and even while three sheets to the wind, he draws a pistol on Jack and manages to keep a lock on him even when he's ducking about.
  • Pintel and Ragetti fighting off the Dutchman crew with naught but a fishing net and an oar. Undead they aren't anymore, but damn if they still can't hold their own in a fight.
  • Elizabeth gets one in this film that only becomes apparent in the next. Jack notes that everyone that came to rescue him from Davy Jones' Locker has tried to kill him at one point and they're not the only ones. Jack has a lot of enemies from the British Navy to the East India Company to other pirates and they all failed to kill him. Elizabeth is the one that succeeded.
  • The final scene. The battered heroes and pirates are in mourning but soon fired up by the idea of finding Jack and saving him. Tia Dalma says they're going to need a guide who knows that world. As the music slowly swells, a pair of boots are seen slowly walking down the stairs. The group all slowly look up as the figure comes down, their faces turning into utter shock... as a very much alive and well BARBOSSA steps down.
Barbossa: So tell me... what's become of my ship?
    • He takes a bite on an apple and laughs as if enjoying the shock from the audience.
    • The best part? This was a case of Enforced Method Acting. The cast had no idea that Barbossa would be appearing, so the looks of shock on their faces are completely genuine.
  • Do gotta give the Kraken credit in how effortlessly it destroyed the first two ships. Especially the small one, which it literally drags down like a toy boat.
  • In the final battle, before Jack grabs the rifle and pulls the trigger, another pirate attempts to finish the beast by grabbing the rifle. The pirate? The only unnamed crew member who escaped the Pelegostos tribe along with the main cast. Sadly he gets killed by the Kraken before he’s able to pull the trigger.
