The very concept of mashing up the Ultimate Marvel universe and the Movie-style Transformers was bound to lead to lots of this.

  • Megatron allies with no less than Dr. Doom.
    • Of course, both are planning to use and betray the other, but it’s ultimately Megatron who outgambits Doom by taking control of all the upgraded doombots.
    • Though Doom still had one hell of a contingency in place for even that with a hardwired back door in the doombots that triggers a recharge shutdown that also (temporarily) works on the Decepticons as well.
  • The Ultimates teaming up with the Dinobots to defend the Triskelion against the Constructicons and a horde of Doombots.
    • The Ultimates exploiting Devastator’s mental weakness by taunting him until he can’t even decide who to attack first.
  • Spider-Man versus the Decepticons. Yes, they’re in a warehouse and Megatron wants to keep a low profile forcing the ‘cons to limit themselves to unarmed combat, but Spidey still manages to hold his own and incapacitate Barricade, Starscream, Soundwave, Blackout, Shockwave, Frenzy and Rumble as well as give Megatron himself a few lumps before the Decepticon leader puts him through three walls.
    • Spider-Man still has enough strength after to web Soundwave in such a way that he blows off his own hands.
  • The arming montage with Optimus’s trailer before the attack on Sector Seven.
  • The Incredible Hulk versus Devastator.
  • Blackout is Killed Mid-Sentence after he thinks he’s dodged Captain America’s shield only for the ricochet to hit him dead-center on his laser core.
  • Ironhide runs out of ammunition when facing Starscream… and decides to just pummel the opposing transformer with his bare hands.
  • Spider-Man pulling a Look Behind You on both Megatron and Starscream is both this and hilarious.
Spider-Man: “Hey! Isn’t that Primus over there?”
(Megatron and Starscream both turn to look.)
  • Jazz’s death is equal parts awesome, tearjerker, and heartwarming.
  • If you are a fan of the X-Men, then seeing Senator Robert Kelly’s anti-robot rhetoric fall flat on a live global broadcast as first Optimus Prime gives an impassioned apology for not being able to stop the war from coming back to Earth and an even better speech about striving for equality and understanding before saying that the autobots will happily accept the decision of humans to leave now that the fighting (and damage repair) is over, but then Secretary of Defense runs up with a decision straight from the President that the Autobots are now honorary American citizens and can stay as long as they like… well, it’s very satisfying. And if you’re not a fan of the X-Men, it’s still satisfying.
