MITB matches outside of the PPV

The Pay-per-view itself

    Money In The Bank 2010
  • Maryse climbing up and trying to get the briefcase for Ted DiBiase Jr..
  • Kane finally winning the World Heavyweight Championship, using the Tombstone Piledriver to do it.
  • The Miz's huge victory and subsequent emotional promo about proving the cynics and skeptics wrong; with the real life criticism and doubt he's dealt with his entire WWE career, it made the moment all the sweeter.

    Money in the Bank 2011
  • Well, a lot actually, but first and foremost, CM Punk defeating John Cena for the WWE Championship.
    • Cena gets one, when he had Punk in the STF & Mr. McMahon told John Laurinaitis to have the bell rung, Cena realizes what's going & releases the hold, and flattens Laurinaitis with a single punch, before yelling to Mr. McMahon that he refuses to have Punk screwed even if it means that he loses his job.
    • Punk, by winning the WWE Title, and actually leaving the company with it, did what a select few have accomplished: he completely, truly, absolutely, in every sense of the word, stuck it to Vince McMahon.
    • How about another one? The match was so good, it got a 5-star rating from Dave Meltzer, the first one for WWE since 1997.
      • This actually goes double, because Cena is The Hero whose wrestling ability is endlessly maligned (a fair amount of which is justified), while Punk is the Ensemble Dark Horse who previous to his push had been jobbing in midcard matches at just about every pay-per-view for about a year or so. Since many people didn't think that either Punk would be allowed the vehicle to perform to a five-star level or that Cena was capable of such a feat, the fact that they did it was all the more improbable and awesome.
      • To make things triple awesome, the 5-star rating that Meltzer gave to Cena vs Punk's bout is the first one he gave to any wrestling match since 2006. The match was so awesome that the industry as a whole managed to get their first 5-star match in more than five years.
  • Daniel Bryan winning the Smackdown Money in the Bank briefcase. The crowd EXPLODED when he unhooked the briefcase.
  • The Miz getting taken out in the middle of the RAW Money in the Bank match because of a dislocated knee... only to come back down towards the end of the match on one leg to try and unhook the briefcase.
  • Christian getting his second WHC reign by taking advantage of the "Title changes hands via DQ" stip... by getting Randy Orton to kick him in the nuts.
  • How about Evan Bourne performing an Air Bourne on five other guys at the same time!

    Money In The Bank 2012
  • The World Heavyweight Championship Ladder match included Dolph Ziggler giving Cody Rhodes Zig-Zag off the ladder, Tyson Kidd vaulting off the ladder to deliver a powerbomb off a different ladder, and Tensai pitching Ziggler over the announce table end over end.
  • Daniel Bryan vs CM Punk 3, their last match...

    Money In The Bank 2013
  • While the WWE Title ladder match was dubbed 'All-Stars', the rising stars were not to be ignored. The World Heavyweight Championship Ladder match saw the Real Americans show impressive teamwork including Cesaro standing on Swagger's shoulders to get the briefcase; Fandango's athleticism including a slingshot leg drop onto a ladder and a sunset powerbomb off a ladder (which got 'This is Awesome!' chants); Dean Ambrose fighting like a madman with a Headlock Driver off a ladder and when a spinning ladder attack was thwarted, 'skinning the cat' onto the ladder to try to reach the case. The star, however, was Cody Rhodes who, among other things, gave Cesaro a Muscle Buster onto a ladder, used a springboard dropkick for the first time, landed 3 Cross Rhodes in rapid succession, and managed to take out everyone (including The Shield) by pushing Ambrose off a ladder! He took out everyone ... except one.
  • The All-Stars Ladder Match was also filled with action as all the veterans dominated the match at one point in time. The main intrigue was the return of Rob Van Dam who immediately proved that he hadn't slowed down at all. Everyone was fighting hard to gain position ... until Daniel Bryan went BERSERK and laid everyone out including putting Sheamus through a ladder! Finally, a Paul Heyman betrayal and RKO off the ladder later, Randy Orton claimed his first Money In The Bank briefcase.

    Money In The Bank 2015
  • John Cena vs Kevin Owens. Wow. Not only is it an excellent match from both wrestlers where they both busted their ass off and giving their all, but if you thought John Cena has a limited moveset, then wait till you see the new moves he has in this match. He manages to do such moves as: a reverse suplex, a frankensteiner, a flying top rope DDT, and the most insane of all, a FREAKING CANADIAN DESTROYER / CODE RED. Holy. Freaking. Shit.

    Money In The Bank 2016
  • Dean Ambrose owned Money in the Bank, not only winning the Money in the Bank ladder match against Kevin Owens, Chris Jericho, Sami Zayn, Cesaro and Alberto Del Rio, but cashed it in the same night after the main event of Seth Rollins vs. Roman Reigns for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship, finally earning himself the championship he'd came so close to last year's Money in the Bank and cashing it in on the same person who beat him as well, the ultimate payback.
    • Not to mention that, on this PPV, all three members of The Shield managed to be world champions on the same night in the span of 5 minutes. Seth Rollins, Roman Reigns and Dean Ambrose have all won a total of six world championships together in the span of three years since they broke up.

    Money in the Bank 2018
  • Braun Strowman winning the contract in a pretty damn good match.
  • Alexa Bliss winning the second Women's Money in the Bank ladder match and then successfully cashing in the contract two hours two hours later on Nia Jax.

    Money in the Bank 2019
  • The event crowned two Grand Slam Champions in Rey Mysterio and Bayley.
    • After a a two-decade career, Mysterio beats Samoa Joe for the U.S. Championship to finally join the Grand Slam club.
    • Bayley won the female's half of the titular match and then later hitting Charlotte Flair hard with a case of Laser-Guided Karma in the midst of the latter's hubristic post-match assault on Becky Lynch after stealing the Smackdown Women's Championship thanks to interference from Lacey Evans, knocking the Queen out cold and cashing in the briefcase to take the title from her just minutes after winning it. This not only made her the first female Grand Slam Champion in history (as mentioned above), but also the first ever female Triple Crown Champion.
  • The Universal Championship match between defending champion Seth Rollins and AJ Styles is as great as anyone have expected, with many calling it the match of the night.

    Money In The Bank 2021
  • Easily the most awesome moment of the night is Big E winning the Men's Money in the Bank match. After hitting a very impressive Big Ending onto Seth Rollins from the top of the ladder, Big E secures his win in a hellacious match that took a lot out of all the competitors. The best thing about this is the MASSIVE pop he got from the fans (easily the most he got of his entire career) and it rivals the other massive pop of the night that will be explained shortly.
  • John Cena's triumphant return to the WWE after being gone for over a year, with his last match being the Firefly Funhouse match at WrestleMania 36. Love him or hate him, Cena is finally back and the pop he got from the fans rivals that of Big E's win. This is also the first time in years where the fans didn't sung "Cena Sucks" with his entrance theme (and if they were, they were most likely in the same vein as Kurt Angle's "You Suck" chants). It goes to show that despite being one the best examples of a Base-Breaking Character in the WWE, the fans do love Cena and are happy to see him back.

    Money In The Bank 2022
  • After years spent as one of the lower-carded women despite being very popular with the fans and seeing her Riott Squad friends get released, Liv Morgan finally gets her moment in the sun when she wins the Women's Money in the Bank match after a very competitive affair that saw her pull out all the stops. Then later in the night, she tops that by cashing in on Ronda Rousey and winning the SmackDown Women's title from her, finally becoming a champion to much applause from the fans and her wrestling peers.

    Money In The Bank 2023
  • In the Men's MITB match, Ricochet leaps through a ladder to tackle three other men on the outside. Notably, he's leaping through the spaces between the hinges of said ladder as if he was threading a needle!
    • Not to be outdone, Butch moonsaults from the top off the ladder onto four others!
  • Shayna Baszler unexpectedly turning on her own partner, Ronda Rousey, in their tag tittle defense against Liv Morgan and Raquel Rodriguez. Her betrayal is met with thunderous applause due to how much heat Rousey has lately as the fans chants "Thank you, Shayna". This gives the challengers the opportunity to beat an otherwise undefeated woman to reclaim the championship they never lost. Commentators even point out Morgan, who is still recovering from a shoulder injury, pins Rousey once again like the previous year.
  • IYO SKY ends up winning the Women's MITB match in a combination of Laser-Guided Karma, The Dog Bites Back, and Hoist by His Own Petard. IYO was on her way to get the briefcase, only for Bayley to knock her out of the way. Then, Becky Lynch arrives and uses a pair of handcuffs, hooking it onto Bayley's mouth and had her dragged down. Then, IYO capitalizes by handcuffing them together, before climbing on top of Bayley to obtain the briefcase.
  • The Usos doing the impossible and hand their former Tribal Chief, Roman Reigns, his first pinfall lose since 2019. The once invincible Tribal Chief is mortal again.
