Main series

    Episode 1: Gotcha! Hopper1!
  • Houtarou, every single step of the way.
    • Thinking there's a monster in a dark area? He checks for people who need help.
    • Rinne attempting to fight a living train? He gets her out of the way before it hits her.
    • The capstone to this? He kicks ass as Kamen Rider Gotchard, defeating the Mantis Malgam and recapturing Kamantis.
  • Say what you want about Rinne trying to fight off a living train, but she shows some resourceful thinking like summoning leaves to clog its smokestack and turning collapsing rubble on Gotchard into paper airplanes.

    Episode 2: Pursuit, Alchemy, Skebows!
  • Rinne definitely sets herself apart from most side characters by actually holding her own against a Malgam, the only thing saving the Skateboard Malgam being its fast feet.
  • It's not Kamen Rider without the Cool Bike, and Golddash more than makes it worth the wait.
  • While chasing down the Skateboard Malgam on Golddash, they encounter a crane that takes up the entire breadth of the road, with the Skateboard Malgam managing get past by shrinking down into skateboard form and going under the crane. Gotchard proceeds to transform into Wild Form and launch Golddash into the air, both vaulting over the crane.
  • While Hotaro may be Book Dumb, he does have unconventional ways of finding solutions. How does he make two Chemys be of equal weight? Ask them to change their diets.

    Episode 3: Bushido, Found.
  • Apparebushido initialy refuses to work with Houtarou and summons a katana at him to get him to back off. Houtarou then manages to catch it, untransformed.
  • Spanner demands Houtarou hand over the Gotchardriver, and attacks him with a bokken when he refuses. Houtarou's reaction? He knocks Spanner in the stomach with a headbutt and doubles down on his beliefs, earning the respect of the finicky Apparebushido.
Hotaro: Chemies are alive! They have hearts! They're not just tools!
  • Hopper1 gets to join in the fight, furious at Spanner's dim worldview on Chemies, which leads to Hotaro taking the attack with a bokken to the back.
  • Minato effortlessly uses Alchemy to defend himself, turning an oil barrel into a shield.
  • Despite his dickish nature, Spanner definitely proves his chops in combat, completely wiping the floor with the Submarine Malgam as Valvarad and freeing Deepmariner.

    Episode 4: Antrooper Labyrinth
  • In his EnergyMaru Wild Mode, Gotchard becomes a ninja made of yellow energy drink to deal with Lachesis' henchmen.
  • When he turned into his VenomMariner form, he deployed several torpedoes that dove into the ground like water and defeated the last henchmen.
  • Hotaro may be an Idiot Hero, but trying to get him to abolish his own beliefs can and will make him devise incredibly clever plans. Case-in-point, we have Lachesis apparently succeeding in getting Hotaro to hand over the Gotchardriver... only for Energyl to give her a Bitch Slap that distracts the Dark Sister long enough for Rinne to retrieve the device.

Episode 5: Burn! Fight! Wrestler G!
  • If Hotaro hasn't proven himself to be a worthy Rider candidate yet, then willingly getting beaten half to death to render the Malgam's signature move ineffective surely seals it. Take note that Asahi's previous star pupil gave up after being hit with the move just once.
Hotaro: (as he gets thrown to the ropes) One more time!
  • Supana tries to forcibly take Wrestler G away from Asahi... only for Houtarou to stand up to him with Renge, Sabimaru, and Rinne joining him and forcing the ace alchemist to back down. Note that the former 2 had little to no respect for Hotaro whatsoever to begin with and only learned about him being Gotchard just minutes ago.
  • Resonating with his desire to help Hotaro has Wrestler G fuse with Asahi to return him to prime fighting condition. Not only do they whup the Malgam's ass, but they simultaneously avenged Asahi's reputation and proved Hotaro right; coexistence with Chemies is possible! Both Gotchard and Asahi G end up giving their opponent a double lariat! Afterwards Gouriki is left demoralized after he is defeated for the first time while being taken away by the police.

    Episode 6: Super A-class ☆ Warped Star
  • Supana stops Lachesis before she makes a Malgam and even helps the victim by advising her to move forward with her life.
  • Gotchard Burninggorilla puts up a hell of a fight against the Hawk Malgam, and even when the bastard tries to escape by flying he doesn't get far before he gets defeated; not just by Gotchard, but also by Valvarad, the same one he was trying to beat.
  • Supana's victory over Boruto came not through something flashy, but through something as simple as a giant hunk of metal hurled at the face.

    Episode 7: Goodbye, Saboneedle
  • Houtarou successfully recaptures Mechanichani by fishing for it with a wooden pole and string. He somehow managed to muster up enough patience to make the plan actually work, a plan that had previously been doubted by Rinne, Renge, and Sabimaru.

    Episode 8: Great Bond
  • After Saboneedle up and left him, Houtarou activates Spiclewhale Wild mode and lands safely.
  • How does Houtarou finally defeat the Dragonfly Malgam? He takes Needlehawk skywards, races towards the ground at nearly terminal velocity, and RIDER KICKS THE MALGAM STRAIGHT INTO THE GROUND.

Episode 9: Dash to Kyoto! Field Trip!
  • The last single-digit episode sees Valvarad use both Gekiocopter and Gutsshovel at the same time. What really steals the show, however, is Gotchard's actions after the Jungle Malgam enlarged; he activates Batkingrobo Wild form, which turns him into a GIANT ROBOT WITH BAT WINGS. Never has borrowing a key element of its sister franchise been more awesome. Hotaro nearly defeated the Jungle Malgam in giant mode too, if it weren't for the fact he ran out of energy at that moment.
  • How does Hotaro make it out? Simple: The Jungle Malgam got pounced by Golddash, which bought the others enough time to get Steamliner to Hotaro. Since Hopper1 already got there due to stowing away in Hotaro's backpack, that's all it took to get Steamhopper back into the fight.
  • Minato uses his alchemy to turn some ninja mannequins into actual foot soldiers to fight Clotho.

Episode 10: Kyoto on Fire! ~Tragic Love: The Chemy Thunder Affair~
  • Kajiki becoming a Badass Bystander despite not knowing what the hell is going on and helping Hijiri snap out of her anger.
  • Gotchard's new forms just keep coming, and not only does using Hiikescue and Flayrose help defeat the first Battery Malgam, but using Mechanichani and Golddash absolutely wallops both the second Battery Malgam and the Jungle Malgam.

Episode 11: Catch! A Spy-der!? Unfit to Be a Rider!
  • The crew really went all out in making sure as many new forms for Gotchard were seen as possible, ending with Lightningjungle defeating the Monster of the Week.

Episode 12: Runaway Liner! The Dark Rider!
  • Kamen Rider Dread, in a very dark example, with the Dark Sisters putting everyone on the ropes.
  • Atropos showcases that she can be just as much of a sadist as Lachesis when she feels like it.
Sabimaru: [audibly struggling to resist] Hen...shin...
  • After several episodes of relying on Malgam forms, Clotho and Lachesis show that they're fully capable of fighting without any external help, with Lachesis proving more than Supana's match in swordplay while Clotho takes full advantage of how reliant alchemists are on their magic rings by shoving a spear through Minato's ring hand to pin it in place.
  • Sabimaru manages to get his moments despite spending most of the episode helplessly trapped in the Dread suit, managing to wrest control of just one arm for just long enough to stop himself from murdering Houtarou.
  • UFO-X delivering the Exgotchalibur, allowing Gotchard to fend off Dread, Lachesis, and Clotho. Unfortunately, the beating he received from the former means that he falls over from exhaustion before he can attack Atropos.
  • After Minato has his palm impaled, he forces it free when Dread starts going after a weakened Houtarou.

Episode 13: Get It Back! United × Forever!
  • The Academy has a new chance of freeing Sabimaru thanks to these words: Kamen Rider Super Gotchard Cross UFO-X.
  • Super Gotchard's debut is action-packed, from clashing with the Exgotchalibur to using UFO-X's portal powers to zip around the battlefield.
  • Minato takes to the field to give Houtarou time to connect with UFO-X, fighting off both Clotho and Lachesis using an alchemically created staff. After spending much of the series acting as a sort of glorified telekinesis we get to see a nice clean transmutation of everyday objects into weapons, like a scene out of Fullmetal Alchemist.

    Episode 14: A Man-eating Rex!? Dangerous X!!
  • While his transformation into Kamen Rider Super Gotchard Cross X-Rex happens at the tail end of the episode, it's nothing short of awesome. With Gotchard slamming the armor parts into his body akin to Hazard Trigger's RabbitRabbit! It's safe to say Hotaro's going to win this fight in the next episode.

Episode 15: Catch! Happy! Shine Gotchalibur!
  • After going through a guilt trip thinking Sabimaru becoming Dread is her fault, Rinne tells off Atropos that the little brat is jealous that Rinne is capable of forming human bonds with others. This turns what had been a Near-Villain Victory into an utter curb-stomp in favor of the heroes. Also take note that Rinne is doing this while Atropos is manipulating her to choke herself.
Rinne: (As she sees Sawa trying to pull Clotho away) My father isn't a traitor! You're just spouting lies!...You're pathetic. I finally get it...Why you keep coming to me...You just want me to be your friend, don't you?! You actually long for friends and family. That's why you reject them! You just trick yourself into not feeling lonely. The weak one here...is you, Atropos!
    Atropos: Silence...silence, silence I say!
  • Houtarou delivers a much needed Rider Kick to Lachesis, beating her in one hit and saving HappyClover, BamBamboo, and Buglesia in the process. Even Supana is dumbfounded by Houtarou's growth.
  • After Rinne manages to turn the tables in favor of the heroes, Houtarou receives a massive boost in his power as Super Gotchard Cross X-Rex from the people believing in him, including the cynical Supana, in a reference to Kamen Rider Ichigo!. This allows him to wipe the floor with a massively powered-up Clotho!Dread.
  • Props for Yuzuru for trying to get Clotho away from his daughter. Sawa returns the favor, trying to pull Clotho away from her dad.

Episode 16: Xmas Crisis! Orochi Incident
  • We are given the glorious debut of Gotchard Daybreak! The form comes out as Houtarou was at his lowest and gives him two choices; Let the form take care of this Malgam, or take care of it himself. And Houtarou chooses the latter, transforming into the two X Chemy forms he's had! Shifting between X-Rex and UFO-X all while the second half of Rising Fighter plays as Houtarou gives the malgam a proper send-off!

    Episode 17: Moonbreak Messenger
  • After Minato reveals that he's betrayed the heroes and became Kamen Rider Dread, Sabimaru hands Supana a Chemie card to have the group escape. Were it not for that quick thinking, their memories would've been wiped.

Episode 18: Run Through! Evolutionary Fire Lord!
  • Kamen Rider Fire Gotchard.
    • The ensuing battle against the Moon Malgam after Fire Gotchard appears. The Malgam stood absolutely no chance, with Gotchard teleporting and zipping around as if he were Sora.
    • And note that Moon was also teleporting around by summoning several moons and making several shadows to use as gateways. It didn't matter in the slightest as Gotchard was on him in nanoseconds at best, due to the inherent speed of the Fire form.
    • Then out of anger, though somehow seemingly forgetting about said speed, Moon then releases Rinne and the others with the intention of killing them in front of Gotchard. In response the Rider then punches Moon into a pile of gravel, picks him up off the ground to KEEP punching him, and when Moon tries to attack back, flies backwards, then above him and punches him into the ground. While it's not a literal example of a curbstomp, it certainly adheres to the spirit.
    • The finisher. Holy crap, the finisher. Fire Gotchard lets the engine on his back fire up to blue-hot levels, while molten chains keep him from blasting off just yet. Once he's burning hot enough, the chains release... and Gotchard blasts off forward to deliver a rocket-powered Rider Kick at the Moon Malgam. It's not only one of the only finishers in the franchise to result in gratuitous explosions before the hit actually lands, but when it does, it causes the Moon Malgam to aggressively burst into flames as Fire Gotchard pretty much carries him across half the country on the burning sole of his shoe. The finisher ends up, quite literally, burning clean through the Malgam's healing factor.
    • Also the Rider Chips are back and providing our new form with a equally epic insert song to match, with "What's your FIRE".
    • Small!Houtarou deserves a mention too, because even as a boy, he immediately went to try to shield the Chemies from the battle between Fuga and Geryon. Small wonder why he's worthy of the mantle of a Rider.
    • Even better is Gotchard Daybreak implies that by doing this and allowing Fire Gotchard to come into being, at least at this point in time, changed the Bad Future he came from.
  • Fuga fights off Geryon with UFO-X, X-Wizard and X Fortress at his side, showing that Houtaro wasn't the first to befriend the Level 10 Chemies and harness their power.

Episode 19: Rinne's Dawn! Transform Majade!
  • Rinne decides to screw the rules and tell Atropos that she's going to do what's right, which allows her to retap into the powers of Majade. She also takes the time to save Atropos because she understands that Atropos and she are similar to one another.
    • As for Majade as a fighter, well, she's basically Kamen Rider Jeanne on steroids, kicking and punching the enemy with grace and elegance befitting a knight. The final attack is her going for multiple pressure points before the monster explodes from the impact.
Atropos: You really are the daughter of a traitor. You would ignore the Laws to save your enemy?
Rinne: (as her arm is in the jaws of the Cerberus Malgam) I'll make... my own rules!
(Her ring starts glowing, alongside a light around her waist, forming the Alchemisdriver)
  • Houtarou is no slouch either, using a combo of his Gotcharigniter and X-Rex when it needed cooldown time to defend Rinne and beat the Malgam until she was ready to transform. Also, the debut of Fire AppareSkebow, which takes the speed of the original and adds the Flash Step of the Fire form. As you can guess, the sword slashes it can do are too fast to be seen, even by Malgam eyes.

Episode 21: Mad Warrior! Black Flame Valvarad!
  • The rebirth of the Valvarad identity as a full-fledged Kamen Rider finally lets Spanner show us why he became a graduate alchemist, and for the short version of the story, the villains might as well have done all the work for him due to the amount of power he gains as a result. Doubly so for him given the terrible track record he had.
  • After Supana masters his own power, he sets his Valvarusher on fire and strikes Dread down while untransformed. Keep in mind that Dread had up to that point trounced Valvarad multiple times with various users, so Supana turning the tables around is a big step for him. Moreover, the utter Curb-Stomp Battle unleashed makes it so that the DreadDriver goes up in flames!
    • The scene also serves as a moment for the production team and Spanner's actor, Yasunari Fujibayashi. Both because it's a rare extended swordfight scene with a face actor, and because for several shots they actually set the prop sword on fire, a practical effect last seen in Kamen Rider Saber.
  • We could simply say that Valvarad beat the brakes off of the Angel Malgam and leave it at that, but just as with Gotchard, it'd be a disservice to not elaborate. First upon transforming, he immediately activates a finisher, though he allows the engine in his Driver and body to build up gears. However instead of evading attempts to interrupt the process, Valvarad just stands there as Angel runs in and attacks...and simply blocks the attack with his off arm. Then his elbow of his sword arm, and then his left again. All without bothering to move an inch, or expend much effort. Angel then goes for a wide slash that DOES manage to take Valvarad off his feet but thanks to his waistcoat, all he accomplishes is another lazy dodge as the Rider stands back up. Beyond furious at this point the Malgam's attacks become unfocused and sloppy, and this is exceptionally apparent as Valvarad simply bobs and weaves from them with a continued tiny amount of effort, that veers into the disrespectful as he then turns and WALKS AWAY from his opponent who is now chasing him and still attacking while he continues to dodge while not even bothering to look. He then spins around and finally uses the Valvarusher to grab and pin his target's arm to release the now max gear charge of the Driver, and in doing so kicks the weapon straight through the Malgam. Angel then proceeds to rocket backwards as if he were hit with cannon fire, and Jyamatanoorochi, impressed by the Rider's power flies over to lend a hand. Combining his eight heads with Gutsshovel's claw grants two this time, plus some chest armor. Angel tries in futility to strike with some feather shots but they're easily blocked, and then he's mauled by the numerous Orochi hears and lifted up...only to be immediately booted back to earth and much like Moon before him embedded into it, as he then expires. It was said since the start that the Valvarad system was inferior to a Rider's powers, as well as Supana's view on the Chemies would hold him back. While he's still working on the latter, this fight vindicates the Warrior as now that he's also a Rider, he can demonstrate just why he's considered one of the best Alchemists of the current age.
  • Special mentions have to go to the sound designers, as without the Kamen Rider-specific Driver sounds the engine noises and the punk rock background track sound more like something from the Fast & the Furious franchise.

Episode 22: Love Is A Blade (Saber)! Suddenly Chemy Story
  • The natural coordination between Hotaro, Rinne, and Spanner as they take on Clotho and the Saber Tiger Malgam.
  • Clotho being Genre Savvy enough to subvert Talking Is a Free Action by knocking Kamantis out of Hotaro's hand before he can use it, then taking it to transform herself into the hybrid Saber Mantis Malgam.

Episode 23: Zukyun Always in My Heart
  • Majade's MoonCerberus form makes her debut with gravity powers to keep Clotho immobilized before she goes in with a powerful kick that plants her. This is then one-upped with Gotchard using a redeemed Zukyunpire's power to charm the two Chemies that make up the Saber Mantis Malgam to which both Majade and Gotchard perform a double Rider Kick combo.
  • Yua gets a minor one by remembering Zyukumpire's words that she was born to be happy, giving her the strength to leave her ex-boyfriend behind when he comes crawling back to her.

Episode 24: Sudden Turn! Forbidden Steel Rider!

    Episode 25: Young Sensei's Mistake
  • Iron Gotchard vs. the Pteranodon Malgam. Not even a contest, as after the Malgam unleashes a barrage of assaults that leaves him unscratched, Iron Gotchard proceeds to send the trains on his arms out like missiles, blowing up the Malgam almost immediately.

Episode 26: Habam Away the Malice, the Pitch Black Wind
  • Fuga has a Rider form: Kamen Rider Wind. Using Gigabaham and Kuroana, he manages to go toe to toe on his own with the Dragon Malgam, one using a Level 10 Chemy and giving trouble to Supana and Rinne working together. Too bad he dies off shortly thereafter...

    Episode 27: Gotcha! CrossHopper!
  • Kamen Rider Platinum Gotchard. Even after Geryon pulls an All Your Powers Combined, the madman can't even touch the white Rider, but Gotchard can most certainly touch him. The failure of his plan and this utterly epic defeat cause Geryon to finally lose his cool for the first time since he has appeared.
  • And it's not just Gotchard, either. Everyone pulls their weight in the final showdown against Geryon:
    • Valvarad and Majade put up a decent fight against Dread Type Two, at least until Geryon pulls out Dread Type Three.
    • Renge and Sabimaru craft a shield from Zukyumpire's abilities that allows them to No-Sell Atropos' Brainwashing powers, leaving Atropos unable to meaningfully contribute.
    • Kyoka (and Lachesis by implication) helps Minato regain his confidence and drive to protect his students, which culminates in the senior alchemist returning with Fuga's sword to pull off a Big Damn Heroes that saves Houtarou.
    • Finally, the Chemies resonate with Houtarou's iron will, and the Level 10 Chemies' power allow Hopper1 to escape and evolve, leading to Platinum Gotchard's debut.

Episode 28: Strange Licking Mystery! Renge's Homecoming
  • Renge's grandmother lifting and carrying her granddaughter like she weighs NOTHING. Anyone can tell you that most elderly women can barely lift a pre-teen, let alone a full-blown teenager.

Episode 29: Night Tale of The Crying Village
  • Fueled with the determination to save her grandma, Renge bravely stands up to one of Ninetail's attacks. She gains the respect of not one, not two, but five Cosmic Chemies!
Renge: (with five Cosmic Chemies in hand) I'LL PROTECT MY NANA!!! (draws a pentagram in the air then fires a combined beam of energy at the illusion)
    • Prior to that, when confronted by a ghost trapped in a dome of darkness, Renge's grandma decides her first act is to stand up to them! Yes, it wasn't malicious and it did nothing in the end, but still.
  • Kyuibi Malgam, a silver Malgam at that, managed to force Houtarou into Platinum Gotchard and to use five Cosmic Chemies' powers to be defeated. Of course, it was all according to Kyubi Malgam's plans, showing how cunning this fox is!

Episode 31: Krackin' Duo In The Dark, Believe In Each Other
  • After Minato reveals that Seina isn't dead yet despite Atropos' claims to the contrary, as well as reminding Rinne of her vow, Rinne transforms into Majade Mooncerberus and wipes the floor with the Mammoth Malgam. Note that said Malgam had given her and Houtaro in Platina Gotchard fits in the previous episode.
  • Rinne pulls off another out-of-the-box tactic against the Kraken Malgam. She convinces Houtaro to give her a Rider Kick, while surreptitiously using Neminemoon to create an eclipse that would make her appear defeated. This distracts the Malgam long enough that as it turns its back on Majade, she attacks it with the Gotcharcalibur, severing its kraken body and preventing it from using its illusion ink.
  • The Romeo and Juliet production that Houtaro and friends did to save the Theatre Club? It went past its goal of recruiting five members to the club to survive and recruited fifteen members afterwards.
  • Lachesis getting her own Valvarusher courtesy of Kyoka and ready to fight alongside our heroes.

Episode 32: The Dire King Cometh! The Puppets' Dilemma
  • It's implied that Kaguya had the Legend Kamen Riser programmed to jump to another world in the event that Hundred chances upon it, showing how he's always a step ahead of them even when he's not around.
  • Houtaro, Renge and Sabimaru easily take down a criminal who's become the Anomalocaris Malgam, with Houtaro providing the muscle as Gotchard and his seniors giving him tactical advice. When the criminal attempts to escape after Akumanocaris is freed from him, Sabimaru uses a similar trick as Minato did against Geryon to keep said criminal in place by turning a statue into impromptu handcuffs.
  • Despite being on opposing sides, Houtaro and Clotho team up quite effectively to defeat a contingent of Hundred's soldiers. Not only do they take out a good chunk of the Kasshines while untransformed, Clotho even brags that she only needs Dread Type-Two to beat them all.

Episode 33: The Legend-ary Rider? 100 Years Too Early!
  • The preview can be summed up in five words: Kamen Rider Legend has returned!
  • Houtaro against the Hundred member bearing the powers of Eternal. The heroes have been on the backfoot most of the episode, but then Houtaro finally gets his Heroic Second Wind against the other Rider with the cheering of people. Accompanied by a Theme Song Power Up, Houtaro turns into Platina Gotchard and becomes empowered by the powers of 26 other Chemys to counter Eternal's power. Gotchard manages to beat Eternal back, and his catchphrase becomes an amazing Badass Boast and Bond One-Liner at the same time.
    Gotchard: Gotcha!
  • Lachesis finally becomes the second Kamen Warrior Valvarad, and proves instrumental in helping Rinne and Spanner against Mimei.
  • Legend becoming all 10 of the first phase Heisei Riders, before topping it all off with Legendary Legend.

    Episode 34:
  • Legendary Legend wastes no time in wiping the floor with Hundred, and not only does the form pack enough power on it's own, it adds a new twist to Legend's Decade-based transformation abilities: It can transform into the past Riders' final forms. In this episode alone we have Decade Complete Form, Build Genius, and Kamen Rider Zero Two.
  • Houtarou doesn't slack off either, using Fire Gotchard Exceedmighty to burn through a small platoon of Kasshines, using Iron Gotchard to pull a Big Damn Heroes, and finishing off the fight alongside Kaguya as Zero Two using Platina Gotchard.

    Episode 35:
  • More showcases of power from Legendary Legend, this time not only using Zero Two and Grand Zi-O, he also summons said Riders in their base forms and their Mid-Season Upgrade forms (Metalcluster Hopper and Zi-O II, respectively).

Movies and spinoffs

Kamen Rider Gotchard VS Kamen Rider Legend

Part 1

  • Right off the bat, Kamen Rider Legend doesn't disappoint, feeling like Daiki Kaito's long-lost brother while stealing parts of the Decade Rider arsenal. He's also a hell of a fighter, single-handedly saving his dimension from Hundred and making quick work of one of the Kasshines.

Kamen Rider Gotchard × Geats — The Strongest Chemy ☆ Gotcha Grand Operation
  • Following her declaration to get stronger, Rinne becomes the new Kamen Rider Majade! Not only that, but Rinne has the honor of being the very first secondary rider to be female.
  • Houtarou as Gotchard's base SteamHopper form keeping up with Ace's Geats IX Super Mode. And to drive the point home, Ace was a god by this point.
  • Star Gotchard and Geats IX against the Geats Killer. Let's just say that Licht really had what was coming to him.
