Awesome / J-WITCH Series

Go To

     Season 1

It Resumes

  • Though Jade's attempt to rescue Will when the latter is first brought to Meridian fails, it's still a valiant effort. She sneaks unnoticed to the throne room (something Phobos says he's impressed about) and takes down Daolon Wong, Cedric and two guards in a surprise attack. It's only because Phobos restraints her telekinetically that she's unable to make a run for it with Will, and even then, she mocks Phobos in his face until he hurls her against a pillar.
  • The first fight between Tohru and Cedric ends with the big man managing to lift the snake-man (who's nearly twice his size) into the air and throw him into an oubliette. Cedric and all the other heroes are dumbstruck.
  • In the beginning of their first fight, Jackie manages to knock Phobos down with a flying roundhouse kick, much to the surprise of the Lurdens and Phobos himself.

Need a Dark Hand?

  • The Guardians face the Dark Hand Enforcers who're armed with all twelve Talismans (except for Hak Foo). Though well-matched, they beat them.
  • Chow gets one when he uses the Monkey Talisman to turn some girders into metal snakes and brings them to life with the Rat Talisman. As they ensnare Taranee, she admits that was a clever combination of Talisman magic.

J-WITCH Meets The J-Team!

  • The Guardians and J-Team (plus Caleb and Blunk) face off against the villainsnote  gathered at Valmont's auction in an all-out brawl, beating them all in the end.
  • After everyone else has either been defeated or escaped, Valmont empowers himself with the Armor of the Crystal Skull that enables him to hold his own against all the heroes, some of who are now using the Talismans. Will has to boost her already enhanced strength with the Ox Talisman in order to pull the crystal skull out of the armor and rob Valmont of his invincibility.

A Shady Service

  • Hay Lin traps all the remaining Shadowkhan in a tornado, after which Irma, Taranee and Cornelia fill it with their respective elements, causing the ninjas to be destroyed. The vortex is then sent high in the air where it explodes in a brilliant flash of light.

The Labyrinth

Divide and Conquer — Chaos and Hilarity

  • In the beginning of the chapter, Valmont attempts to convince the Guardians, Jackie and Tohru to work for him, even threatening to give their enemies the photos he has taken of the girls' Guardian forms as well as of their homes and parents. Yan Lin proceeds to explain to him that he's trying to blackmail several Magical Girl Warriors and Badass Normals, all of whom are ready to beat the crap out of him. Realizing he's outnumbered, Valmont hands over the photos and walks out of the Silver Dragon before he starts running away.
Yan Lin: Let me see if I understand you correctly, Mr. Valmont. You believe these five girls; these five, teenage, rebellious, and headstrong girls possess powerful magical abilities, the likes of which can defeat even of the most vile of monsters, who are currently being trained by men that you know have defeated demons with nothing more than simple spells and their bare hands… and your response is to blackmail these people? [Valmont nervously realizes that the heroes are ready to attack him as Yan Lin smiles] Good luck with that.
  • Will's decision not to give in to Sondra's taunts earns her not only the approval of her friends and Jackie, but Matt also spends the next day skiing with her rather than Sondra. "The greatest victory is the battle not fought" indeed.
  • Though the Enforcers' attempt to defend Valmont from Daolon Wong earns them a severe punishment from the dark wizard, the heroes are impressed by that display of loyalty to their former boss.
  • The Monkey King is able to hold his own against the Guardians, Jackie, Jade, Caleb and Uncle. They can't land a single punch on him.

A Dramatic Ambush

  • Uncle uses his chi magic to give Yan Lin enough power to use her air magic to trap Sandpit in a tornado. Jackie and Viper then use the Dragon and Pig Talismans to turn Sandpit to a glass tornado, which then topples over and shatters to pieces.

Pleasure Cruise

  • The heroes fighting and defeating the Dark Hand as the cruise ship is sinking. At its end, Valmont is about to finish Jackie off with an emergency axe, only to discover that it has disappeared from his hands. He then discovers that it was taken from him by Tohru's mother who's angry and disappointed to learn what kind of a man her son's nice ex-employer truly is. She then beats him up while giving several And This Is for... exclamations.
Mama Tohru: [stomps on Valmont's foot] That is for lying to me! [punches him in the gut] That is treating my boy the way you did! [punches his face with her fists] And this is for making him fight a demon! [uppercuts his jaw]

Framed

  • Jade drawing a bazooka to use against Phobos' minions when they're all stuck inside the magic painting.
  • While Uncle makes a spell to transport them inside the painting, he tasks Tohru with making a spell that enables the Talismans to work in the painting where only dark magic works. This allows them, Caleb and Irma to rescue their friends as Wong is about to grab the Heart from Will. And when Phobos slashes the painted world, Tohru uses the Tiger Talisman to take the heroes to Earth and the villains to Meridian.

Revelations

  • Jackie and Section 13 working together to kill the Larvek.

Stop the Presses

  • Uncle pulls his Dope Slap on Phobos after somehow escaping his bonds.

The Mudslugs

  • Will, Jade and Tohru rescuing Cornelia and Alchemy from Wong.
  • Cornelia and Jade (armed with the Rooster Talisman) work together to toss the Mama Mudslug back through the portal it came from.
  • Cornelia smacking Uncle before it turns into an amusing smack-combat between them. When he smacked her earlier for quarrelling with Will and Jade, she accepted it. However, when he smacks her for supposedly exposing the Guardians' secret to Alchemy, she retaliates because it wasn't her fault Alchemy happened to be with her when Daolon Wong appeared to capture Cornelia.

Tohru Who?

Enter the Oni

  • Tarakudo using his telekinesis to intercept the Guardians' elemental attacks and send them back at them. And then, despite knowing nothing about the Guardians, he quickly deduces that Will is lacking elemental energy of her own because some of the Heart's magic has been redirected elsewhere.
  • Hay Lin, Will, and Cornelia working together to catch Jackie after Tarakudo and company throw him out of a plane.
  • The Guardians, Jackie, and Caleb fighting the Shadowkhan that Frost, wearing the first mask, sends after them. They use the tunnels of Shendu's ruined palace to limit the number of Shadowkhan sent after them to try and buy more time for Uncle and Tohru to figure out how to get the mask off of Frost.

Samurai and Guardians

Walk This Way

  • When Jackie, Tohru, and the Guardians attack the drill that Phobos' forces are using to look for Rebel tunnels, Tohru saves Taranee from being crushed by grabbing the drill as it's dropped on her and holding it up with his own strength.
  • Anticipating that Wong and Cedric will try and lure the heroes into a trap, the heroes spring one of their own. Caleb and Blunk pretend to wander into the trap, only for the others to swoop in, with Section 13 stepping in to neutralize the Trance Marchers with tear gas. Then, Irma and Hay Lin combine their powers to trap the Marchers in an ice dome filled with knockout gas, while Section 13 surrounds Wong and Cedric with armed guns, forcing them to retreat.
    • During the springing of the heroes' trap, Jade combines the Rooster, Rabbit, and Ox Talismans to fly in and hit Cedric hard enough to send him flying.
  • A purely villainous example: during the fight over the Horn of Hypnos, Tarakudo manages to slip in, grab Jade, and mark her with his symbol without anyone noticing.
  • Phobos threatening Cedric and Wong with being thrown in the Abyss if they don't stop infighting with each other.

Return of the Queen

  • Uncle being Crazy-Prepared enough to not only give everyone who's going to rescue Jade their own vial of the tattoo-removal potion, but also to have Will use the Heart to absorb it just in case Jade is clever enough to realize what's going on.
  • The entire sequence of Will using the Heart to cure Jade of Tarakudo's corruption. It even leads to the creation of a sixth Auramere.
    • Right before Will starts seriously using the Heart, she gives Jade a heartwrenching speech about why she considers the latter her best friend. It causes Jade to briefly regain her free will and partially turn back to normal.
  • After Jade is cured, Irma, Cornelia, Hay Lin and Taranee create a massive twister full of fire, earth, and water that tears the roof off the throne room and sends Phobos, Cedric, and Wong flying off — though not before telling them in certain terms that messing with Jade like this has given them more reason than ever to go all out against them.
Cornelia: Taking Elyon away because she was your sister was one thing…
Hay Lin: But what you all tried to do to Jade…!
Taranee: You just made this all the more personal!
Irma: You jerkwads want a war?! You got one!
  • When Tarakudo makes a move towards Jade, Jackie gives him a Death Glare that makes the floating head gulp and throws an onion in his face.

Ghosts and Shadows

  • Phobos, enraged by how Tarakudo turning Jade back into the Queen resulted in a new Guardian, confronts him, even threatening to break off their Villain Team-Up. Tarakudo responds by using his telekinesis to restrain Phobos and make it clear that if he ever tries something like that again, he'll sorely regret it, proving himself Eviler than Thou and making Phobos genuinely scared for one of the first times in his life.
  • Jade discovers that her new shadow powers can hurt Tarakudo, and then proceeds to pummel him, complete with an And This Is for... speech, topping it off with trapping him and the other villains at the fight in a big shadow ball that she then sends rolling downhill.

The Precious Mask

  • Will gives Wong a Groin Attack when he gets close to her to try and drain the Heart's power.
  • Scruffy joins the battle to rescue Will by using the Monkey Talisman. He takes on Cedric by transforming himself into a direwolf, lion, rhino and tiger.
  • Alchemy using the Rooster Talisman to telekinetically duel Tarakudo, and while the Oni King is more experienced, she wins by throwing an onion into his eyes.

Gladiatorial Clash

  • Hak Foo actually follows Tarakudo through the Shadow Realm into Meridian, and the Oni King seems genuinely impressed by the feat.
  • Jade not only anticipates Cornelia sneaking off to Meridian, but she is also Crazy-Prepared enough to both bring the Snake Talisman and have a note for her Astral Drop so Jackie will know where they went if they get captured.
  • The performance of the fresh Dark Chi Warrior Hak Foo. He shrugs off everything the heroes throw at him even though they have the Talismans at their disposal to compensate for the lack of the Heart. After the Heart is regained, he's still more than a match against all the six Guardians. They need to resort to trapping him in a tornado and filling it with elemental magic and a blast from the Dragon Talisman to send him flying up and falling to the ground.

Black Magic

  • Tarakudo's plan, for the other minions to let themselves be captured, so that when Captain Black is inevitably corrupted by his mask he'll give them the other masks. Phobos admits to Tarakudo that he's genuinely impressed at the plot.
  • Oni-Black intimidating Wong, Cedric, and Miranda into compliance.

The Underwater Mines

  • When they realize that there's an ambush at the mines, Jade comes up with a plan; Uncle, Tohru, and Alchemy will use the Talismans to attack the ambush party as a distraction while the rest of them sneak into the mines and find Julian. Will is rather surprised by the plan.
  • Jade knocks out a pair of guards by using their own shadows as weapons.
  • Uncle using the Snake Talisman to get the upper hand over Wong. He then uses it and the Ox to intervene before Hak Foo can harm Alchemy.
    • For that matter, Alchemy having planned ahead by bringing along several Talismans and walkie-talkies, then using the Rooster to stay ahead of Hak Foo during the whole fight, keeping him busy until Uncle and Tohru can deal with the others.
  • At the end of the chapter, the heroes toss Wong, Cedric, and the defeated guards into a pile on the palace courtyard, sending a magical projection of the scene to Phobos as a message, and telling him that they're coming for him. And to top it off, Uncle creates a loop of himself saying "one more thing" and blowing a raspberry at Phobos.

The Demon Behind

  • When Cedric takes Alchemy hostage, Jade attacks him with a spike coming from his own shadow.
  • Jade managing to open a Shadow Realm portal so the Guardians and Chans can reach Tohru.
  • Yan Lin rescuing Alchemy from Miranda.
  • Taranee realizing that they should focus on using their powers to trip the Samurai Khan up so they can't cut through their attacks with their shadow blades.
  • After seeing the Samurai Khan do it, Jade uses shadow blades of her own against them to great effect.
  • Uriah, believing he's dreaming everything, actually manages to remove Ikazuki's mask from his rear end.

Fright Night Fight

  • Will using a piece of stone (which she tricks him into thinking is the mask) to lure Hak Foo into position so Jade can use her shadow powers to bind him with the shadow cast by the canyon wall, then has Cornelia poof him with a rockslide.
  • Irma using Wong's sweat from the heat of one of Taranee's attacks to attack him and disrupt his focus.
  • Jade uses the Monkey Talisman to turn Scruffy into Cerberus.
  • Chris is a big lucha libre fan, able to keep up with an Ox-Talisman boosted Paco using just what he's copied from watching TV.
  • Irma saving Paco from Chris, then ripping the mask off her fully-possessed brother.

The Seal of Phobos

  • The Enforcers are all genuinely impressed by Elyon's art skills, and considering they regularly steal fine art and antiques, it's likely not idle praise.
  • Tarakudo and Phobos hatching a plan to let The Starscream in the court to trip up and reveal themselves.
  • Jade was going to use a chainsaw on the Book of Secrets.

Half a Mask of Kung-Fu

  • While it backfires shortly afterwards, give credit to Alchemy for putting on one half of the Crab Khan mask to battle Oni-Valmont on equal terms, and for fighting against it for that long.
  • Valmont and Alchemy teaming up to purge themselves of the Oni spirit controlling them.

A Chantastic Prison Break

  • In addition to the Guardians, the full J-Team — including Scruffy (using the Dog and Monkey talismans) and Super Moose (empowered by the Rat talisman) — join in on the Cavigor prison break. Needless to say, before Cedric, Wong and Hak Foo arrive, the heroes are easily winning.
  • Caleb, Cornelia, Jade, and Will tag-teaming Tarakudo. This includes Caleb revealing that he coated his katana in onion juice just in case, Cornelia creating a smokescreen with onion powder, and Uncle empowering Will by combining chi magic with the Heart so she can actually hit Tarakudo.
Will: [cracks her knuckles] What were you saying about 'kid gloves', Tarakudo?
  • In the end, the heroes manage to keep both the existence of the Infinite City and their possession of the Seal of Phobos a secret, destroying the prison to boot, so Phobos's forces have no idea how they got in or out.
  • When Finn promises Elyon that he and his friends won't let anyone do anything bad to her, he glares subtly at Phobos to let the dark prince know that not even him. With Elyon present, Phobos can only narrow his eyes in return.

A Challenge of Leadership

  • Jade using her shadow powers to shape the baked goods into amazing shapes.
  • Jade using her shadow magic to protect the Guardians and company while Cornelia uses her powers to burrow underground and escape the Larvek mother. Tarakudo even admits that it was impressive.
  • The whole chapter turns out to have been one big manipulation by Tarakudo. First he gets Wong and Cedric to act against Phobos by sabotaging the peace treaty, then he tells Phobos about the two betraying him so he can further manipulate the prince and act as an Evil Mentor towards him, leading him into a We Can Rule Together scenario.
  • Tohru and Yan Lin add to what the girls made with a wide array of Japanese and Chinese treats.

The Shadow Eaters

  • Irma sends Cedric into a group of alligators, who promptly begin trying to eat him.
  • Phobos forcing Wong and Cedric to bow before him after giving them a "The Reason You Suck" Speech about how they can't keep their egos and personal desires from getting in the way of their assigned tasks.
  • At the end of the chapter Wong makes a deal with Shendu; if Wong can restore Shendu to life by hijacking the ritual to steal Elyon's powers, allowing Shendu to get revenge on Jackie, Shendu will teach Wong how to control all the Shadowkhan tribes without needing to wear their respective masks...

The Battle for Meridian Plains

  • Tarakudo positing that the Guardians entered Cavigor from underground, leading to the villains discovering the Infinite City.
  • Section 13 arrives to back up the Guardians and rebels during the assault on the castle, nearly winning the battle before Elyon intervenes.

Not so Black and White

  • Black remaining a Defiant Captive to Cedric and Wong.
  • Cornelia snuck some onion seeds into a garden, then lured Tarakudo over it and used her powers to make them grow.
  • Alchemy using the Monkey Talisman to impersonate Will while the real Will frees the prisoners.

A Jolly J-WITCH Xmas

  • Saint Nicholas in this universe is strong enough that it takes Hak Foo to allow Wong and Cedric to turn the tables on him, and even without his magic he's still powerful enough to help J-WITCH fight Krampus.
  • Alchemy now knows a basic chi magic stun spell.
  • Everyone working together to reseal Krampus.

Stolen Heart and Mask

  • When Phobos and Tarakudo hear about the Heart and Mask being stolen, they know that they will win either way, but Tarakudo heads along anyway to trick the Guardians.
  • Tohru busting the heroes out of the ice cave they're stuck in by ramming one of the walls.
  • When Jeek attacks Blunk, Blunk fights him off using the kung-fu he's learned from watching the others. Then he grabs the mask removal potion and jumps on Cedric to pull the mask off of him while Tohru holds him down. And then he scares off Tarakudo with an onion.

Twilight of Darkness

  • The Chan Clan and Guardians taking down all the Shadowkhan that the freed Generals unleash on Section 13, keeping them from spreading until they escape to Meridian.
  • Irma, Taranee, Cornelia, and Hay Lin pairing up with Viper, Tohru, Caleb, and El Toro to stop the Generals from spreading their darkness across Meridian.
  • Jade and Will tag-teaming against Tarakudo and Ikazuki.
  • Yan Lin, Alchemy, Super Moose, Paco, and Scruffy, empowered by the Talismans, join in the Rebellion's assault on Phobos' castle.
  • The Enforcers making good on their promise and fighting Phobos and the others to protect Elyon.
  • Blunk and Matt jumping in to help get Tarakudo's mask on him, sealing all the Oni and Shadowkhan.
  • A villainous example — Wong succeeds in his plan, using Elyon's power and the Talismans to resurrect Shendu.

A New Dawn

  • Shendu proving himself to be the biggest bad around, overpowering and killing Cedric, tossing Miranda and Wong through windows and far away from the castle, then smashing Phobos through his own throne.
  • Uncle stripping both Wong and Phobos of their magic permanently.
  • Hak Foo, despite no longer being a Dark Chi Warrior, still attacks the heroes. In response, Viper kicks him out of the air, El Toro grabs him and flips him onto the ground, and then Paco drives an elbow into his face after dropping from a tree, knocking him out.
  • The Guardians, and Jackie in the Armor of the Eight Immortals, facing off with Shendu in a Final Battle.

     Season 2

An Anonymous New Evil

  • Wong notes that Nerissa's Quintessence is a very rare form of magic, and seems genuinely impressed she wields it at all, let alone with the skill she displays.
  • Captain Black exploits some Loophole Abuse regarding his lack of jurisdiction on Meridian in order to leave the Enforcers there to start new lives serving Elyon.
  • Taranee, Will, and Jade pretend that Taranee is going along with Drago's ambush plan, only to then whip out the Heart of Kandrakar and transform when he and Miranda have played their hand, catching them off guard. Furthermore, it turns out that the rest of the Chan Clan is on standby as The Cavalry.
  • Jade wraps Miranda in a ball of shadow, then she and the other Guardians bounce her around before tossing her in the ocean.
  • The Guardians tag-teaming to beat Drago.

The Knights of Vengeance

  • Drago beating Raythor, Frost and Hak Foo to secure his place as leader of the Knights of Vengeance.
  • Drago says that, unlike his father, he learns from his mistakes, which he shows by seeing through the Guardian's plans.

Relics of Demons Past

  • Drago gives Hak Foo dragon speed, Frost dragon strength, and Raythor dragon fire in this story. The latter in particular has all of his lost muscle restored and channels the power through his sword to great effect.
  • We get the first hint at what Jade's upgraded Shadow powers can do when she's fighting with Raythor and her shadow wall not only blocks his dragon flames, but absorbs them, like a mini-black hole.
  • Alchemy combining her wind demon belches with Hay Lin's Air powers to create a much more powerful blast.
  • Drago revealing that he has some of his mother Nerissa's Quintessence powers in addition to his father's demonic firepower, which he uses to help transfer the Wind Demon Chi to Tracker.

Seeds of Doubt

  • Taranee surprises Miranda during the chapter's fight by revealing that she's hidden Scruffy on her in the form of a mouse, thanks to the Monkey Talisman. He then turns into a tiger and attacks Miranda, later also turning into a bear and managing to actually hurt her a bit before she manages to web him in place.
  • Captain Black calling out Medina and McTiennan for being so intense in interrogating the girls, who are minors, on little-to-no real evidence, and makes it clear that if it were up to him he'd have their badges for it, making them sweat.
  • The last scene reveals that the whole Demon Chi plan is merely a distraction by Nerissa and Drago to keep the heroes from realizing their real plans. If they do manage to get and keep it, they'll take advantage of it, sure, but it's mainly to avoid it from becoming a Wild Card, and to take advantage of how Uncle will find a way to contain it.

Rigging the Games

  • Jade showing off her enhanced shadow powers by simply extinguishing Raythor's flame-sword with a wave of her hand before using her shadow-katana to shatter it.
  • Irma managing to match Miranda after the latter is empowered by the Water Demon Chi.

What's More Dangerous

  • When fighting the Annihilators, Jade discovers that her expanded powerset allows her to absorb and negate the magic that animates them, destroying them for good.
  • Matt rescuing Jade from Drago, then stalling him long enough for Will to arrive so they can fight him together, the Quintessence Guardian showing her new skills by creating a giant Venus flytrap to swallow Drago up.

Black and White Chi All Over

  • Cornelia and Caleb using the former's Guardian-based Dishing Out Dirt powers and the latter's temporary Earth Demon Chi powers in tandem to fight the Knights.
  • During the climax of the golf course fight, Will uses her evolving Quintessence powers to not only animate a golf cart, but modify its shape and juice it up so it can grab several of the Knights.

Nightmares and Daydreams

  • Will and Jade inadvertently combining their powers to break free from the dream.
  • Jackie using the Sheep Talisman to enter the girl's shared dream and help them beat Drago.
  • The final dream fight with Drago, where he takes on his One-Winged Angel form from canon (empowered by all the Demon Chi) and the Guardians counter by taking on their Zenith forms (becoming living embodiments of their elements), is an absolutely epic brawl.
  • Once Nerissa is revealed in their shared dream, Jackie and Uncle manage to kick her out for good.

A Demon's Wings in the Witches' Town

  • A villainous example, but Drago taking advantage of the unique circumstances to summon the vengeful spirits of the victims of Salem's witch trials to attack the heroes is pretty impressive.
  • The J-WITCH members actually manage to handle themselves fairly well against the Knights without access to their full powers.
  • After singlehandedly holding them off, Elyon manages to connect with the ghosts, causing them to realize what they're doing and turn on the Knights.

Facades of Evil

  • The head Ben Shui monk is actually handily winning against Drago before Nerissa arrives and blasts him from behind.

Down To Earth

  • When Miranda and the Ice Crew try to gang up on Elyon, she uses her magic to turn their attacks on each other.
  • Irma using her knowledge of comics to reach Martin long enough to extract the Earth Demon Chi from him.

One Person's Trash

  • Alchemy continues to show off her Chi magic skills, managing to find ways to modify spells and impressing even Uncle with her ideas.
    • She also correctly anticipates that Valmont is going to betray the heroes, so texts a tip-off to Captain Black before they head to Meridian. Then she has Blunk send him through a Fold right to Section 13 when he tries to bribe Blunk into helping him escape.

Clash of the Titanics

  • Will showing off her expanded Quintessence powers by communicating with a giant crab and getting it to peacefully leave the group alone.
  • In a villainous example, Nerissa uses her Quintessence powers to lift the Titanic to the surface. The Knights also manage to successfully hang onto the Demon Chi.
  • Alchemy getting a sample from Shendu for the spell to locate Drago.

Staling Thunder

  • The hero's plan to steal the Thunder Demon Chi was fairly impressive. It might have worked if Nerissa didn't overhear and warn the Knights.
  • The Nephorcers using the Robo-Merks to battle against Gargoyle and actually defeat him!

Jewel Hunt

  • For a villainous example, Drago stealing the Tiger Talisman goes off without a hitch.
  • Jewel the Altermere, due to having Jade's chi in addition to Will, is able to use both of their powers and is thus able to match all the Guardians at once.

Weight of the Burden

  • Irma forming a river into a giant made of water around herself in order to fight Frost, who has the Mountain Demon chi.
  • Jewel revealing that she's not totally gone by helping Will and Jade combine their powers, creating a barrier that repels Gargoyle's attack and sends him and Drago flying.

Illusions of Flame

  • After Taranee has been corrupted by Shendu's chi and gone berserk, Irma manages to restrain her by summoning a massive tidal wave too big for even her boosted fire magic to counteract, smashing it down on her and then turning it into a bubble to hold her long enough for Tohru to remove the chi.

Return

  • Drago successfully freeing his father from imprisonment with Dragon Teeth and his Quintessence power. Even Shendu complements him for it.
  • Jackie and Hay Lin distracting Phobos by taunting him, counting on the influence of Shendu's chi making him too angry and shortsighted to realize what they're doing until Tohru is ready to drain the chi from him.

Shadows of the Past

  • Nerissa taking control of part of Herbert's Anubis army with her powers and turning part of them against the other to help wipe them out.
  • A young Drago managing to survive his fall, hide from both his father's forces and Kandrakars, and then later return to free his mother and replace her with an Astral Drop decoy.

The Uncertain Present

  • Uncle giving the Oracle a Dope Slap for what happened with Nerissa, combined with a What the Hell, Hero? call out from Jade when she learns the full story.
  • Jade showing off her Anti-Magic powers against Nerissa, whose age and frail body cannot keep up, even with the Heart of Meridian behind her. If Drago hadn't realized what was going on and used his own Quintessence powers to rescue his mother, she would have been captured and forced to release Elyon right then and there.

In and Out of Balance

  • Jackie-Dark managing to resist Nerissa's control as Mordred, pass on a message to Jade to have her and the other Guardians play possum, and reveal his true allegiance by snatching the Talismans away from her, shooting her with an energy blast in the process, and then reversing the mental influence on Scruffy, Matt, and Huggles. Nerissa is enraged that she got tricked again, by Jackie's dark side of all people.
  • Despite this, the villains still manage to pull off an epic win, destroying Section 13 and successfully escaping with the Talismans, Tarakudo's mask, and the Pan'ku Box.
