Sakura Cosmos Saga

    Intro Arc
  • Rebecca meeting Shiki. She and Happy are in the forest when a massive mechanical cat appears...and gets taken out a second later by Shiki who just drops from the sky on it.
  • The robots of the Granbell Kingdom revolting is a TearJerker for sure, but has some incredible moments:
    • The Castellan rightfully pointing out that when the park lost visitors the humans there just up and left to leave the place, and the still active machines inside, to rust and rot even if it was all part of an act.
    • When the robot citizens starting ganging up and beating Shiki, he just lays there and takes it heartbroken. The second he sees Rebecca in tears, Shiki remembers his grandfather's words and boom: every bot around him goes flying, a look of fury on his face.
    • Ether Gear, a power of the "Dark Ages" and in this case allows Shiki to manipulation gravity. Shiki goes up against the Castellan, who is revealed to be a repurposed combat bot, and not only avoids every hit but our new hero lands a punch so hard it shatters the ground beneath them. And then to escape, Shiki grabs Rebecca and Happy and "flies" (or rather falls sideways) and takes them to back to their ship in no time flat.
  • Rebecca may not have gotten a chance to shine in this, but she did show that strength isn't just physical. Like when she's tied to a stake is threatened to burned alive by the Castellan, she tells him to do it if he had the balls. Then when Shiki is prepared to stay on Granbell to try and fix the machines, her response is to tell the guy who can control gravity and fought a combat robot to shut and get on the ship. By telling him we mean dragging him kicking on board.
  • Triples as heartwarming and Tearjerker but the robot community of Granbell banding together to trick Shiki into leaving before they shut down permanently.
  • The final shot of the chapter: Shiki and his two new friends are escaping when he realizes they're going up. The "ship" as it turns out is one for space as the crew leave the planet. What's the first thing that they see? A massive dragon robot/spacecraft that leaves Rebecca's look like a fly... and then it's shown to be puny compared to the massive robotic woman that we'll come to know as "Mother". Ladies and Gentlemen, welcome to the universe of EDENS ZERO.
  • Rebecca finally reveals she's not just a pretty face when she chases after Happy in Bluegarden. When the two finally reunite, we learn just what they're capable of. First, Happy is a cyborg able to transform into twin ether guns. Second, Rebecca is a crack shot with those Happy Blasters.

    Norma Arc
  • The battle between Shiki and Sibir, moreso in the anime version. In the manga, it's a fairly quick, done-and-done deal that's over in three or four hits, most of them from Shiki, with little to offer in the way of choreography. The anime, on the other hand, turns it into a real spectacle with the addition of dynamic animation, a dissonant yet riveting and swelling violin track, a poignant montage of the robots Shiki sees as the feeling being they are, and above all else, ample buildup put into the weight and force of every strike, all finishing with a visually stunning image of Sibir getting blasted by Shiki's Gravity Cannon. Thanks to the efforts of J.C. Staff and Yoshihisa Hirano, what was originally a quick throwdown instead became a definitive action piece for the series.
  • After finally being granted control of the Aqua Wing, Weisz converts the ship on the fly and then reveals that he too possesses Ether Gear. Behold Machina Maker!

    Skull Fairy Arc
  • Shiki's Gravity Comet. He's finally found a goal worth pursuing that even his grandfather Ziggy couldn't achieve, and he expresses this with a wicked grin as he powers up into his pseudo-Overdrive for the first time, catapaulting off the ceiling, blasting a hole in the hull of the ship, and smashing the fake Elsie through several floors of the ship face first. Once again, the animation is kicked up to eleven in the anime for this moment.
  • The reveal of the titular Cool Starship. When Shiki sits upon the Demon King's "throne", a command transfer protocol is enacted transferring control of the ship to him, and then she appears: Witch, one of the Four Shining Stars, reawakened by Shiki's arrival. She proceeds to clear the ship and reveal its true form.
Witch: Jet-black wings that soar through the universe: The Ether Drive Eternal Navigation Ship—EDENS ZERO.

    Guilst Arc
  • The introduction of Homura as a laser-sword wielding badass. When Shiki gets stuck avoiding a rocket fired by Fake Sister's goons, Homura steps in by slicing it in half as it explodes in the background. She then proceeds to take on the whole group by herself using her twin sword leopard stance. No one ever told the henchmen not to bring guns to a sword fight.
  • Weisz also shows off the battle application of his Machina Maker for the first time by modifying several spots on the ground into machine gun turrets that all fire on an unsuspecting Mosco in a hailstorm of lead that he calls Million Bullets.
  • Rebecca is probably the only one of the captured B-Cubers to keep her cool through her entire time in captivity. Thanks to this, she is able to figure out a way to escape and to rally the other captives to help her in this. And it works! Also, it's revealed that many of the B-Cuber videos (like those of Milon) were staged, whereas Rebecca's exploits are genuine.
  • Rebecca and Shiki taking out their respective foes simultaneously as they recall a prior conversation about aiming. Shiki knocks out Fake Sister, Jinn, and Ganoff simultaneously with his barrage of Gravity Bullets while Rebecca quickly head-shoots Illega and his minion in their fat heads.
  • The real Sister Ivry is re-awakened, and she not only takes out her frustrations on the Fake Sister, but she proceeds to undo all the Taken for Granite commited by Illega with a single Dispel Driver. This is the power of one of the Four Shining Stars.
  • Rebecca's determination to escape Guilst, where supposedly no slave has ever escaped. She put faith in her own skills and that of her friends, and not only does she escape, but thanks to Shiki and the others, all the rest of Illega's captives escape as well! Not just the B-Cubers, but (thanks to Sister Ivry) all the others before them!
  • Shiki flying (i.e. falling upward) with the whole group toward the Edens Zero just in time to escape the Chronophage heading toward Guilst. Particularly in the manga where it's portrayed in an awesome double page spread.

    Digitalis Arc
  • In their first fight, Shiki throws a building at Jamilov using his gravity powers, only for the latter to shrug it off thanks to his cheats.
  • Homura makes a heroic entrance after being framed by Amira as a traitor and seemingly all hope is lost. Shortly afterward, Homura once again proves that guns are useless against her by reflecting a bullet fired at her from a sniper rifle back at Amira, who only escapes a headshot by logging out a moment before the bullet passes where her face was. Remember, if you die in Digitalis, you die in real life as well.
  • Shiki putting the smack down on Jamilov with his Gravity Fist Frenzy, punctuated by Hermit explaining that Shiki's real world strength far exceeds the theoretical limits of the game's systems and some really satisfying animation in the anime.
  • As Jamilov tries to destroy the Edens Zero with his maniacal hacking, Shiki finally convinces Hermit to trust him, promising to be her friend. In a moment that is both this, funny, and heartwarming at the same time, she restores the ship's self-repair systems, back-hacks Jamilov, and makes like she's about to shoot him straight to hell...only to reveal she Trolled him with the ship's fireworks, drawing hearty laughs from everyone including herself, proving Witch's note that Hermit has an incredible smile.

    Mildian Arc
  • Shiki takes out his opponent, a man who's skin is steel, in a single punch.
  • Weisz isn't a fighter like Shiki, so he beats his opponent that has super speed by exploiting Pino's EMP ability and beating him the old fashioned way when he's on the ground, powerless.
  • Up until this point, Rebecca has always been a ranged fighter, using her happy blasters and pin point accuracy to take out foes from afar, but when her B-Cuber opponent uses a force field that neutralizes ether bullets, Rebecca knocks him out with a flying kick, showing she isn't a slouch up close either.
  • Homura has the most difficult and personal battle out of the group, fighting a replica of her master Valkyrie with memories of all Homura's weaknesses in battle. Despite her emotional state, Homura overcomes the fake Valkyrie by allowing her pivot foot weakness to be exploited and landing an aerial slash to finish the fight in a single decisive blow.

    Sun Jewel Arc
  • Rebecca's Ether Gear finally awakens in her fight with Nino. Thinking back to how the Mildian match ups foreshadowed the opponents on Sun Jewel and the emphasis on feet, kicking, and speed she feels her Ether gather...and realizes her power is in her feet. The Ether Lines appear in a wing pattern, and Leaper is born!
  • The debut of the hero known as Arsenal! By modifying the armored suit he's wearing on the fly with his Ether Gear, Weisz augments his speed, strength, and defense making finally making him capable of fighting like Shiki. He caps off his first battle modifying his right arm into a gigantic, rocket powered fist and hitting his opponent with his new finisher: Metallica Explosion!
  • Shiki defeats Madame Kurenai's Knight Gear by capturing its own missiles and using their force to augment his gravity to crush it.
  • Homura's final reckoning with Kurenai, her biological mother. After learning the truth about her, she makes one final bow of thanks...before telling her to get the hell off Sun Jewel and out of her sight, never to return to either.

    Belial Gore Arc
  • Strictly from the position of an antagonist, Drakken Joe firmly establishes himself here as an enemy who not only gives the heroes a run for their money at nearly every corner, but completely took readers by surprise in just how capable and terrifying of a villain he is. The way he sniffs the Edens Zero crew out almost immediately, uses the Element 4 to separate them and pick them off one by one, rounds them up for an excruciating Breaking Speech, and—to top it all off—actually kills Shiki (in World No. 29, anyway) all give him an air of authority and dread that The Power of Friendship cannot overcome on its own. And just when it looks like the crew has a cheap way around all that thanks to Rebecca's Mental Time Travel ability, he still throws Shiki and Weisz around like ragdolls through raw power alone, even with all the effort their allies put into getting him weak enough to stand a fighting chance. All of this plays out with little to no Bond Villain Stupidity on his part.
  • Speaking of which, The Reveal that Rebecca's Ether Gear (full name Cat Leaper) doesn't just let her leap through space...but through time as well.
  • The end of Chapter 97. Drakken has become a rampaging Ether-feuled monstrosity that trounces Weisz and Shiki, forming a gun out of his body so that he can kill The Hero in same manner as the old timeline. As he pulls the trigger, Shiki suddenly remembers the his last words to Drakken promising to become his friend by defeating him. Suddenly the bullet, only a few inches from his head, stops midair and drops to the ground thanks to Shiki's gravity powers. As he stands promising to not let his friends cry anymore, his clothes become black, his hair white, his Tron Lines and eyes become purple as his hands and arms become black to match the pair of horns growing out of his head.
Past-Shiki: Someday, I swear I will beat you. And then I'll be your friend, you friendless jerk.
    Past-Drakken: You won't have a "someday."
    [...]
Present-Shiki: "Someday"...is today. (Overdrives as he stands) I'm done. I will never make my friends cry again.

    Red Cave Arc

    Foresta Arc
  • Hermit, Weisz, and Laguna working together to finally beat Müller, avenging all the people that Müller had harmed.
    • Weisz, despite being given a Neck Lift by Müller is still capable of focusing his Ether Gear to activate the arsenal suit to battle Muller.
    • Even though Müller is using O-Tech technology, which he claims is more advanced than Weisz's arsenal suit, the latter is still capable of putting up a great battle on his own, before Laguna's support.
    • Hermit tricking Müller into thinking they are friends again, and then punching Muller's head as a way to show that she is no longer afraid of him.

    X 495 Arc
  • Things sure have changed since the three-year Time Skip. Right off the bat, Rebecca has become a respected B-cuber and Shiki is now considered one of the Oracion Seis Galactica, putting him basically in Elsie's league. But the real demonstration comes back on Bluegarden when Shiki and company learn they're cornered by one of the Oracion Seis Interestelar, Feather, who has an ocular Ether Gear much like Noah. They make plans to get past her and her army and back to the Edens Zero without hurting anyone. Then we see how they do it:
    • Kris, Kleene, and Laguna easily clear out scores of troops.
    • Weisz can now conserve Ether by only activating parts of his Arsenal suit.
    • Rebecca has achieved Overdrive with her Cat Leaper (and assumes a cute Cat Girl form when doing so)! And Happy is now able to fire a blaster on his own, without needing Rebecca to hold him.
    • Shiki knocks down most of the troops with a massive gravity wave, then nonchalantly tells Feather to stay out of their way and walks past her. She turns to protest...and discovers he'd just pinned her down, too!
    • And all this while Feather had used Ether Connect with her troops, basically giving them the same foresight ability she has. But it doesn't matter, as Homura explains. Just because they can see what's coming doesn't mean they can do anything about it!
