Awesome moments in Donkey Kong Jungle Beat.
- In general, Jungle Beat is this for DK in showing just how savage he can truly be. So many of the enemies are beaten by simply pummeling the ever-loving-snot out of them!
- The opening tutorial. DK runs towards a giant barrel sitting in a tree and one of the monkeys says to clap. This triggers the first instance of beat-em-up gameplay where DK turns the big tree into splinters with his bare fists. He holds up the barrel, the title drops down and he lets out a mighty Tarzan yell!
- The Durian Kingdom has become a fan-favorite level and for good reason.
- It starts out with the much-adored "Battle for Storm Hill" which details one lone gorilla storming an armed fortress occupied by ninja chimps!
- Next up is a trek through the fortress interior which concludes with the building burning down as DK makes his way to the goal.
- And finally, the boss battle against Ninja Kong. Two warriors fight fisticuffs in the rain while the fortress burns in the background. Sounds like something straight out of a samurai doesn't it?
- The Kong battles in general. DK faces off with the Kong ruling that kingdom in a one-on-one martial-arts match!
- First off, in three out of four of these, there's a chance to land a counter when they're about to hit and this results in DK doing Ryu proud with a monster uppercut that sends the kong twirling in the air!
- Dread Kong may not be the most exciting first boss but he gives a great taste of what's to come!
- Karate Kong: In the first phase, he will simply not take you seriously as he just casually tilts his head to dodge your hits. Come to the second phase and he starts levitating in the air performing spin kicks for major damage! And he can even fake you out!
- Ninja Kong, as mentioned above is this. Especially when you successfully dodge his kicks and kick him in the face! Only better is the counter, especially in the second phase where if you land the counter successfully, it triggers a lightning bolt in the background!
- Sumo Kong: Where else can you fight a sumo wrestler on a falling meteor in space? No, this is not a joke. You’re literally in a sumo match on a falling meteor just outside the planet atmosphere.
