"The Christmas Invasion"

  • When Rose realizes she can't understand the Sycorax despite the translating properties of the TARDIS, she concludes that this is because the Doctor is unconscious. Later, we find Rose, Harriet Jones, and a man translating the Sycorax language with a device. The Sycorax leader is boasting in his language, and then starts speaking English. Rose realizes that the TARDIS is translating again; cue the Doctor exiting the TARDIS.
  • The TARDIS has decided not to translate the Doctor saying "Cassa Cree Salvack" to the Sycorax. Apparently, it's just that goddamn offensive in human terms!
  • Upon seeing him regrow his hand, the Sycorax leader snarls "Witchcraft" at the Doctor, who replies with "Time Lord", said with all the weight, dignity, power and respect that title is owed.
  • While it would have disastrous consequences down the line, The Doctor ending Harriet's time as Prime Minister with six simple words...
"Don't you think she looks tired?"

"New Earth"

  • The Doctor stops an epidemic by turning walking plagues into walking cures.
The Doctor: I'm the Doctor, and I cured them!

"Tooth and Claw"

  • Queen Victoria gets one when she pulls a pistol out of her handbag and shoots the leader of the monks.
Father Angelo: Oh, I don't think so, woman.
Queen Victoria: The correct form of address is "Your Majesty"! [bang]

"School Reunion"

  • K9 Mark III's Heroic Sacrifice: "You bad dog!" "Affirmative." K9, a tiny metal dog, taking down all the attacking Krillitanes single-handedly.
  • Mickey realizing he was the Tin Dog, this also started a shift in character development, and Mickey became more than comic relief.

"The Girl in the Fireplace"

  • As the Doctor forces one of the clockwork droids out of young Reinette's room:
The Doctor: Even monsters from under the bed have nightmares.
Reinette: What do monsters have nightmares about?
    The Doctor Me!
  • Reinette telling the entire Royal Court of Versailles to get ahold of themselves, while facing down unstoppable killer clockwork robots:
Reinette: Would everyone just please calm down. Such a commotion, such distressing noise! Kindly remember that this is Versailles. This is the royal court, and we are French. I have made a decision. And my decision is no. I have seen your world, and I do not desire to set foot there again.
Clockwork Droid: We do not require your feet.
  • The Doctor rides to a trapped Reinette's rescue... on a white horse. Into a Versailles ballroom. Through a mirror. And is then introduced to King Louis XV:
Reinette: Oh, this is my lover, the King of France.
The Doctor: Yeah? Well, I'm the Lord of Time.

"The Age of Steel"

  • Mr. Crane rips out his earpods as Lumic tries to seize control, makes his way into his boss's central chamber, and mortally injures Lumic before the Cybermen restrain and "delete" him.
  • Mickey finally getting to take a full level in Badass, and helps shut down Lumic's entire plan.
    • The fact that the Doctor gets around The Cybermen by using his old insult for Mickey, knowing that he'd be watching and understand, and that the Cybermen, so devoid of emotion, would not understand.

"The Idiot's Lantern"

  • Where the Doctor and Rose are just dancing verbal circles around the domestic abusive Eddie.
The Doctor: Hold on a minute. You've got hands, Mr. Connolly. Two big hands! Why is that your wife's job?
    Connolly: It's housework, innit?
    The Doctor: And that's a woman's job?
    Connolly: Of course it is!
The Doctor: Mr. Connolly, what gender is the Queen?
    Connolly: [uncomfortable] She's a female.
The Doctor: And are you suggesting the Queen does the housework?
    Connolly: No, not at all!
    The Doctor: "Then get busy.
    • And, when he catches on to what they're doing, he tries to reinstate his supposed authority over them, only for the Doctor to show that not everybody is as easily bullied.
Connolly: Hold on a minute. Queen and country's one thing, but this is my house! What the... What the hell am I doing? Now you listen here, Doctor. You may have fancy qualifications, but what goes on under my roof is my business.
The Doctor: Not if people are being abducted–
      Connolly: I am talking!
The Doctor: And I'm NOT listening!
  • The speech he gives after he finds out what The Wire did to Rose:
    The Doctor: They did what?
    Bishop: I'm sorry?
The Doctor: They left her where?
    Bishop: Just... in the street.
The Doctor: The street. They left her in the street. They took her face, and just chucked her out and left her in the street. And as a result, that makes things... simple. Very, very simple. Do you know why?
    Bishop: No.
The Doctor: Because now, Detective Inspector Bishop, there is no power on this Earth that can stop me!
  • Tommy Calling the Old Man Out on his betrayal and hypocrisy, followed by his wife joining in, slamming the door in his face, and then telling her relatives that "something has ended", implying she's going to divorce him. After seeing how cowed they were, it took a lot of guts to do that.
    • What more, she later points out to her husband that the house isn't actually in his name but in her mother's, and tells him to leave while dropping a packed suitcase.

"The Impossible Planet"

  • The Beast taunting Mr. Jefferson to shoot him.
    Jefferson: You will stand down!
    The Beast: Or what?
Jefferson: Or under the statutes of Condition Red, I am authorized to shoot you.
The Beast: [grins] But how many can you kill? [he promptly takes over all of the Ood]
  • Just the fact that the Beast is voiced by Gabriel freaking Woolf. That's right, Sutekh the Destroyer is the Devil!

"The Satan Pit"

  • A villainous one for the Beast, who manages to completely shut down the Doctor's argument with four words.
The Doctor: If you are "the Beast", then answer me this: which one, hmm? Because the universe has been busy since you've been gone. There's more religions than there are planets in the sky. The Archivits... Pordonity, Christianity... Pash-Pash, New Judaism... Sanclar... Church of the Tin Vagabond, which devil are you?
    The Beast: All of them.
The Doctor: [disbelievingly] What, then you're 'the truth behind the myth'?
The Beast: This one knows me, as I know him. The killer of his own kind.
The Doctor: [beat] How did you end up on this rock?
The Beast: The Disciples of the Light rose up against me, and chained me in the pit for all eternity.
    The Doctor: When was this?
    The Beast: Before time.
The Doctor: What does that mean?
    The Beast: Before time.
The Doctor: What does "before time" mean?!
The Beast: Before time and light and space and matter. Before the cataclysm. Before this universe was created.
The Doctor: That's impossible. No life could have existed back then.
The Beast: Is that your religion?
The Doctor: [beat] It's a belief.
  • Mr. Jefferson's Heroic Sacrifice, taking out the pursuing Ood with his guns and then accepting his fate with the knowledge he bought the others some time. He then asks the Captain the increase the speed of the oxygen removal so he can die from oxygen starvation rather than be lapelled as "death by Ood".
  • The speech the Doctor gives just before he does was pretty awesome too.
The Doctor: So that's the trap, the great test, the final judgement, I dunno. But if I kill you, I kill her. But that implies, in this big grand scheme of gods and devils, that she's just a victim. Well, I've seen a lot of this universe. I've seen fake gods and bad gods and demi-gods and would-be gods. I've had the whole pantheon. But if I believe in one thing... just one thing... I believe in her!
    • His Badass Boast as the planet is falling into the Black Hole deserves a mention too.
The Doctor: This is your freedom. Free to die! You're going into that black hole and I'm riding with you!
  • Rose and the Doctor kill the Beast by dropping it down a black hole.
    Rose: Go to Hell.
  • The Doctor uses the TARDIS to tow a ship away from a black hole.

"Army of Ghosts"

  • Mickey has been undercover at Torchwood for some time, and they are none the wiser. It seems that Mickey has used the Doctor's tried and trusted method of "walk in the front door and act like you belong".

"Doomsday"

  • Rose's Badass Boast to Dalek Sec.
Rose: I met the Emperor, and I took the Time Vortex, and poured it into his head, and turned him into dust. D'you get that? The god of all Daleks... and I destroyed him. Ha!
Dalek Sec: You will be EXTERMINATED!!!
  • The Cybermen also get to verbally own the Daleks in this exchange of insults:
Cyberman: Our species are similar, though your design is inelegant.
Dalek Thay: Daleks have no concept of elegance!
    Cyberman: This is obvious.
  • The Daleks get vengeance:
Cyber Leader: Daleks, be warned. You have declared war upon the Cybermen.
Dalek Sec: This is not war. This is pest control!
Cyber Leader: We have five million Cybermen. How many are you?
    Dalek Sec: Four.
Cyber Leader: You would destroy the Cybermen with four Daleks?
Dalek Sec: We would destroy the Cybermen with one Dalek! You are superior in only one respect.
    Cyber Leader: What is that?
Dalek Sec: You are better at dying!
    • When they're all sucked into the void, it does seem the Daleks are winning. It's probably because these are Time War Daleks, who nearly obliterated an entire race.
  • Just a minute later, Rose points out to the Daleks why the Doctor owns them both. That all three Daleks in the room jerk backwards when they find out the Doctor is even present says volumes.
Rose: Five million Cybermen? Easy. One Doctor? Now you're scared.
  • Yvonne Hartman: Even after being "upgraded" to Cyberman, she still defends Queen and Country.
    Yvonne: You will not pass.
Cyberman: What is the meaning of this?
    Yvonne: You will not pass.
