    Series (General)
  • Every time the Detective Inspector gets the "Eureka!" Moment that cracks the case wide open. When all leads seem to lead to dead ends, no plausible explanation in sight and the murder just seems impossible, it's something completely off-topic mentioned that gets the DI thinking and starting to piece together until eventually, it all becomes clear and the call is made to bring all the suspects together to reveal the culprit.

    Series Two
  • "Death at the Clinic": a fleeing suspect manages to overpower Dwayne and is about to hop aboard his boat and speed away. Poole growls, "not on my watch", grabs a rubber weight from a fishing net, then gives an almighty throw and knocks the suspect cold.
Poole: (Off Dwayne's incredulous look) I honestly didn't expect that to work.
  • "A Dash of Sunshine": Poole gives Doug Anderson his comeuppance after years of bullying. And Poole does it all by the book, naturally.

    Series Three
  • "Death of a Detective": Humphrey Goodman manages to share the "Eureka!" Moment with the recently-murdered Poole, who, as Humphrey said, was a good detective, and not only discovered something that led to his death, but also left behind clues and "in essence, solved his own murder."

    Series Five
  • In the season premiere, "The Impossible Murder", Florence earns her Action Girl laurels when a suspect is fleeing by boat, leaving Dwayne, J.P. and Humphrey standing on the dock. Florence spots a tour boat passing between the dock and the fugitive's boat, sprints to the end of the pier, and leaps onto the tour boat's awning and then to the fleeing boat, managing to subdue the suspect single-handed.
J.P.: Now that's what I call no weaknesses, Dwayne.
Humphrey: Gosh, you can say that again.

    Series Seven
  • "Murder From Above" has the main cast chasing after a young drug dealer. He manages to give an undercover Dwayne, Florence and J.P. the slip, while Jack is busy buying a melon from Catherine. When Jack spots the young man sneaking past, he instinctively tosses the melon at him and handcuffs him when he catches it, before he has time to think. The rest of the team have no idea how he (probably the most out-of-shape D.I. they've had so far) was able to do that.

    Series Ten
  • In the first episode, the killer - a popular television presenter - humiliates Neville with a live interview about the case where he exploits Neville's various allergies. When the killer is unmasked, he says nobody will believe Neville over him... only for Neville to calmly announce that the whole of The Summation was being broadcast live on television.

    Series Twelve
  • In the penultimate episode, a suspect flees to his car, is blocked by Darlene's bike, and then tries to reverse away. The team yell for Marlon, who was covering the back of the building, to intercept him... but unknown to everyone, Marlon is already sitting in the back of the car, his handcuffs ready. He looks justifiably smug about it, too. The suspect gives up.

     Series Thirteen
  • In episode 5, Marlon's sister Jocelyn has been accepted for a scholarship in Jamaica. While Marlon wishes to go with her, there's the issue of no openings for police officers available there. Selwyn pulls out all the stocks to help Marlon get a job, even travelling to Jamaica and meeting up with J.P to meet with the Superintendent to help get Marlon a spot. By the end of the episode, they're successful and Marlon has a job waiting for him when he goes to Jamaica. Why would Selwyn go to all this trouble? He saw Marlon develop from a hustler to a upstanding police officer and wishes for him to continue on the path that saved him.
