* The series 4 finale, "Unlike Father, Unlike Son": Humphrey's father Martin visits and encourages him to quit his job, return to England and reconcile with Sally, all based on Martin's read that Humphrey is wasting his talents and that Sally's new fiancee is a loser and she's aching to get back with Humphrey. Martin even goes so far as to approach Commissioner Patterson behind Humphrey's back and ask how soon Humphrey can be let go, even if it means living the murder investigation to someone else. When the Commissioner tells Humphrey he is DisappointedInYou, Humphrey is [[TranquilFury quietly furious]], but calmly tells the Commissioner that his father must be mistaken, and Humphrey has no intention of leaving his job, or St. Marie, until the case is solved and the killer is behind bars, ''"and that is a promise."''

* In episode 5, Marlon's sister Jocelyn has been accepted for a scholarship in Jamaica. While Marlon wishes to go with her, there're no vacancies for police officers available there and they don't have the budget for another spot. Selwyn pulls out all the stocks to help Marlon get a job, even travelling to Jamaica and meeting up with J.P to meet with the Superintendent to help get Marlon a spot. By the end of the episode, they're successful and Marlon has a job waiting for him when he goes to Jamaica.

Florence spots a tour boat passing between the dock and the fugitive's boat, sprints to the end of the pier, and leaps onto the tour boat's awning and then to the fleeing boat, managing to subdue the suspect single-handed.

The rest of the team have no idea how he (probably the most out-of-shape D.I. they've had so far) was able to do that.
