  • Cerea vs the Neurocypher
  • Luna’s speech to Crossing Guard in Chapter Eleven
"— several," the dark mare cut him off. "And yet this is the one which was chosen, for imprisonment and exile do not suit one who deserves her chance. You are at the head of Immigration. You have seen butcher shops introduced into the Heart, helped to rewrite the rulebooks for sports which suddenly need to accommodate a single kudu's twisting horns. This is a sapient. She is peaceful, and will remain so as long as no violence is directed against her. She has recently arrived in our nation, and it may be some time before she is able to return home." Her head lowered slightly, with the dark energy around the horn showing the faintest hints of tiny spikes. "One might argue that she qualifies as a refugee — if one does not simply label her as the victim of a foalnapping, for her arrival was involuntary. We are trying to send her home, Crossing. But until that day, she has earned her chance at a new one. And making that chance fully legal and supervised is your duty."
  • "Okay, asshole: I'll take it from here!"
  • "She is employed by the palace," Princess Luna told them all. "As the newest member of the Royal Guard."
    Celestia: "He would be honored."
  • Celestia vs Puff Weevil is a combination of this and funny.
Celestia:"I don't think (Princess Luna will sign the bill outlawing Centaurs), even if the majority comes in for you. I'm just agreeing to put it on the record. I promise, fully and unconditionally, that the names of all who vote to remove centaurs from Equestrian society will be permanently recorded. So that those who look back across history will know exactly who you were, and how you felt. I think that request is completely fair. And in the event that she should ever do something which adds the image of Equestria's newest heroine to the Hall Of Legends or gains her own honor statue in the gardens — that record will maintain. In the form of a plaque right next to it, something with exceptionally large lettering, as indestructible as magic can make it. The full list of everypony who felt she shouldn't have had that chance, and so it would also be the list of those who would have stood in the way of letting the People be saved. In the name of the People. The record is the record. And it's nice to see that you acknowledge the possibility of her making a contribution. I'll be watching the progress of your bill with interest, and that's as the pony who, strictly speaking, doesn't have to read the final result. But I will put it on the record. Because the record really doesn't care about what's fair. It just concerns itself with what actually happened."
  • Cerea brings Damascus steel to Equestria. Barding is appalled and infuriated at her technique (and the fact that someone else is using his equipment), to the point that Celestia has to physically restrain him from charging into the smithy and stopping her. Then he kicks a sheet of the finished product as hard as he can, cracks a hoof...and barely even puts a scuff on the surface. He's so impressed that he decides to name it after her.Unfortunately he doesn't phrase it very well.
  • Cerea, through nothing but ignorance and deduction, nearly pierces the Secret.
    • Bonus points for Emery Board, who comes within a hoofstep of breaking it in order to give Cerea the tools she would need to survive against an earth pony who is giving their all in a fight.
  • Luna uses precise application of the Armor-Piercing Response to break Nightwatch out of her conflicted self-loathing after her apartment burns.
Nightwatch:"The Sergeant may still be yelling at Squall. But in a good way. Like what Princess Luna does. It makes you yell at yourself."
  • Despite her Heroic Self-Deprecation about her performance, Cerea is awe-inspiring in her first combat scrimmage. She is out-numbered and out-gunned and still manages to pick of 1/3 of the force against her using hit and run tactics and still took out at least one pony when surrounded on flat ground.
    • When Squall panics and began using lethal tactics against Cerea, Nightwatch intervenes within seconds and provides the Estee-verse first on-page example of a pony redirecting lightning.
    • And then she flies down to chew out everypony involved in the fiasco — including the Sergeant.
  • After reading Wordia's latest column in Chapter 62, Celestia and Luna summon her to the palace and give her an absolutely glorious verbal beatdown over her recklessness and exactly what her opinion of the sisters would mean for her personally if taken to its logical end. (Namely: being executed as an enemy of the state.) They top it off by coercing her into helping them find the site of the latest magical disruption.
  • When Equestria's various tribalist supremacist groups momentarily unite to try and invade Celestia and Luna's palace to get Cerea, they find themselves going up against the ponies who work there, who proceed to express just how dim a view they take of the matter.
    • In the archives, pegasi and unicorns work together to whip up whirling tornados full of loose papers, slashing and blinding anypony who enters, whilst earth ponies settle for simply kicking filing cabinets at the invaders.
    • The narration skips over what happens in the kitchens, simply noting with Estee's trademark adeptness at subtlety that attacking a kitchen full of angry chefs is second in stupidity only to attacking trained soldiers in an armory.
    • Sizzler gets extra points for dealing with those foolish enough to attack him by locking them in his meat fridge.
