• Inoki headlined a joint show between New Japan Pro-Wrestling and World Championship Wrestling that drew 190,000 people in North Korea to see the first and only match between Inoki and Ric Flair. Before the match, Korean and Japanese officials accompanied Inoki to the grave site of Rikidozan to pay him tribute.
• Inoki holds the distinction of having not only slammed André the Giant, but performed this feat on at least three seperate occaisons, all before Hulk Hogan famously slammed Andre at Wrestlemania 3. Inoki was also by far the smallest wrestler to do this. He is also credited as the first man to make Andre submit.
