  • The Early Adventures of Andrew Doran results in Andrew developing the power of Ki manipulation to infuse his bat by pure instinct. He then proceeds to beat the ever living hell out of his dead neighbor's ghost.
  • Andrew Doran and the Forever Gate has Andrew stop a plot to feed thousands of people to a gate to Yog-Sothoth in order to harvest his power for their own. It requires Andrew to go to multiple worlds and a spaceship in the far future to do it. Even better, he only does the latter in order to rescue Zadie Allen.
  • Andrew has several in Andrew Doran and the Journey to the Serpent Temple.
    • Andrew sees through his allies' Bitch in Sheep's Clothing plan and doesn't kill the Serpent Men sent to kill them. Instead, he sits one down, communicates with them to find out who his partners really are then fakes their death so he can turn the tables later.

  • The Statement of Andrew Doran is chock full of these moments.

    • Andrew stumbles upon a town where Yog-Sothoth has conceived another child and it threatens to destroy the world because the Nazis have stopped him receiving his medication.
    • Andrew rampages through the Traum Kult's base in Berlin after getting loose and ends up managing to escape with the Necronomicon.
  • Andrew Doran and the Mountain of Madness is full of these.
    • The book opens with an epic fight in the Utah desert between Andrew and a bunch of Nazi agents that includes an old-fashioned pulpy fight on a train.
    • Carol Berg ripping apart more Nazis when it's revealed she's a Wendigo.
    • The battle between the Color out of Space (or more precisely, its spawn from the end of the novel) with a bunch of Nazi agents intruding on its territory.
    • Andrew figures out a way to defeat the proto-shoggoth (specifically, an ascended Erich Strobel) that was a creature created by the Elder Things to fight Cthulhu's people. He makes use of time travel, magic bullets, and an Eldritch Location.
  • Andrew Doran and the Obsidian Key has Andrew defeat an undead monster golem created from six undead Crusaders through trickery. He also realizes he doesn't have the moral worth to hold the Obsidian Key and destroys it (or at least tries to).
  • Andrew Doran and the Crawling Caves has him team up with a Barbarian Hero in the woods to destroy (at least temporarilly) the Al Azif and thwart an Alien Invasion from the planet Callisto.
  • Andrew Doran and Scroll of Nightmares:
    • Andrew Doran manages to evade all of the Booby Trap defenses left by Eibon to defend his scroll and get past the Traum Kult as well as the Nazis.
    • Andrew Doran manages to carve the Elder Sign into Icthosthau, a literal god of nightmares and manages to imprison him for a time again.
