  • The music.
    • "Things Out There", the intro song, has the Chipmunks putting on a rock performance about monsters threatening you in the night, with lots of scary imagery of monsters, skeletons, witches, and more. It's an effective intro to the duology of monster films, showing that things are going to be a little scarier from here on out.
    • "If a Monster Came In Your Room" is one long Badass Boast wherein Alvin at first cockily talks up how he'd beat up a monster if it came in his room. Then Simon says he'd use his smarts to overcome the monster. As the song progresses, Theodore gains confidence in himself and ends up right alongside his brothers, smirking at the camera during the dance number and finally being brave enough to stand and fight alongside his family. For any similarly timid children watching, this song was a great way for them to gain confidence in themselves as well, even with the darkness of the rest of the film still to come.
  • Theodore protecting Frankie from the angry Mob, pointing out that he's not really a monster but a misunderstood creature. Also counts as a Heartwarming Moment.
  • Frankie saving Alvin from his own creator, trapping him in a mascot costume in the process.
