Awesome / Albedo: Erma Felna EDF

• The first three pages of the very first Erma Felna: EDF story feature a planet colony with a Funny Animal population—which is invaded by an aggressive rabbit nation. When the readers first reading this in 1982 realized that this was no kiddie comedy and the series was a deadly serious Mature Animal Story intended for an adult audience, the modern furry fantasy genre was instantly born.
  • More importantly, this comic became famous of its habit of having serious political discussions after each action sequence. They may be Talking Heads, but Gallacci was able to make them as compelling a drama as the fighting as the serious literary potential for supposed Funny Animal characters was soundly proved.
• When Capt. Arrat is forced to forget about the incident of the Chishata mining colony by a EDF officer, he doesn't take the advice too well and Arrat punches him in the face with his hooves! (He's a horse, remember.)
