* AssPull: The key that is considered important throughout the movie is destroyed, but one of the Care Bears is able to create a new one easily.

* WhatDoYouMeanItsForKids: In spite of having the iconic and cutesy Carebears, the film itself is surprisingly dark with a malign spirit that wants to turn the world into misanthropic anarchy, several attempts at harming children, and very deranged imagery near the end- especially from the rundown theme park and even Nicholas himself.

** While it's outright stated outside of showing children acting aggressively, it's heavily implied that this spread of not caring is causing global anarchy. Had the Carebears not stopped the Spirit in time, things would've likely escalated to war worse.

** When you notice Nicholas zap the crowd into un-caring...you can see someone who looks suspiciously like WesternAnimation/{{Daria}} in the crowd. Gee, wonder she's such an apathetic high schooler...

* NightmareFuel: Where to begin... the SealedEvilInACan who desires the entire world to stop caring, which starts off as being [[{{Jerkass}} assholes who hate each other]] [[FridgeHorror which would've eventually led to riots or worse had this plan not been stopped]], the shapeshifting purple smoke demon that attempts to kill the main characters several times, the run-down carnival setting of the climax, the ride the two kids go through that is downright creepy-looking, and finally Nicholas becoming a crazy-eyed sorcerer.

* SocietyMarchesOn: The orphans reciting their evening prayers in the opening scene comes across as decidedly quaint today. Sure, this might still happen in some families, but with society becoming increasingly diverse and secular, including such a scene in a children's cartoon can seem dated and - by modern standards - inappropriate in the 21st century.
