However, he's also possibly the 2nd most forgiving member of the cast, and offers many a smile and help wherever he can despite his issues.
* MoralEventHorizon: As if you didn't already know that the duke of wesselton was a weasel, on top of his crimes against Elsa, he also tried to murder rapunzel by exposure to cold just because he thought she still had magic.

As this fic was first conceived right after ''Frozen'' came out, the author takes time both in and out of the story to poke fun at several fan theories without using any of them. From the potential connection to ''Disney/TheLittleMermaid'' and ''Disney/{{Tarzan}}'' to the theory about Anna once having fire powers before elsa hit her in the head. There also seems to be no long term plans to make Rapunzel and the arendelle sisters related, and there's even a TakeThat to the theory that the story is part of ''Series/OnceUponATime'' canon. The timing also is different, making Elsa the oldest one, and her parents died going on a business trip rather than going to Rapunzel's wedding as some fanon believes.

Several fans complained this broke rules of diplomacy and made the normally calm and logical elsa when she's in "ruler mode" seem entitled and hypocritical about someone keeping a secret that could ruin them...much like she did. This did eventually get included into the story's discourse, and eventually explained itself that Elsa was hurt that she felt she couldn't trust Rapunzel and Eugene as strongly anymore, so she gave the sentencing. Eugene saw the reason behind it all, so he played along. On the other hand, since Eugene was an international criminal in this continuity, would you blame Elsa for being at least a little uneasy around Eugene when all she knows about him is secondhand for the most part?
