* EnsembleDarkhorse: If you're not here for the novelty of Mario partaking in RuderAndCruder humor, you may have heard of [[https://www.mariowiki.com/Kinoppe Kinoppe]], who appears to be a strong contender for the most {{moe}} character in the Mario franchise. In fact, author Creator/KazukiMotoyama's former editor pitched a SpinOff {{manga}} starring her, which fell through once Creator/ComicBomBom lost the Mario license... only for Motoyama to self-publish a {{doujinshi}} revisiting the idea in 2019 titled ''Manga/KinoppeChanForever''.

** Long before Toadette made her debut in ''VideoGame/MarioKartDoubleDash'', this comic came up its own DistaffCounterpart for Toad[[note]]Known as "Kinopio" in Japan[[/note]] named "[[https://wariofranchisefanblog.tumblr.com/post/613747505332731904/warelander-wariofranchisefanblog-warelander Kinoppe]]". Her [[HumanoidFemaleAnimal more humanoid appearance]] makes her doubly ironic with the advent of Peachette in ''VideoGame/NewSuperMarioBrosU''.

** The second manga based on VideoGame/SuperMarioLand puts its focus on a Tetris themed setting. Which features a group of characters based on all seven Tetriminos, and a "King of Tetris" (which is actually Bowser on a disguise) as their main antagonists. By introducing both the StarShip Tetra crew,and Ex,the Keeper of Dimensions,Videogame/PuyoPuyoTetris does pretty much their own take on that
