* NeverLiveItDown: Sisko gets a lot of flak over the scene where he personally blames Picard for Wolf 359, since it's well-established to [=TNG=] viewers that Picard was a ''victim'', not a participant (but less so to characters in-universe). So much so that people seem to genuinely forget that Sisko reconciled with him and parted on good terms at the end of the episode. This is especially wrong because the episode itself goes out of its way to show this is not a rational reaction but Sisko being unable to deal with his wife's death and lashing out at the only target he can reach. Once Sisko has his wormhole experience he clearly starts dealing better and putting the blame where it belongs.
* SugarWiki/VisualEffectsOfAwesome: The episode opens with a flashback to the Battle of Wolf 359 from ''Series/StarTrekTheNextGeneration'', which was an OffscreenMomentOfAwesome at the time and the ''Enterprise'' just seeing the aftermath. This episode gives it the moment it deserves.

* AlternativeCharacterInterpretation: Are the Prophets just weird aliens who genuinely don't understand Sisko's nature, or it's all a ruse because they knew that him having a personal realization in the middle of explaining things would be the best way for the Emissary to get MovingBeyondBereavement?

* FridgeLogic: The ''Enterprise'' arrived ahead of Sisko, since the captain who announces their approach is obviously not Picard, and O'Brien has clearly been on the station for quite some time when Sisko first meets him. However, it's nowhere to be seen when we get our first look at the station. The obvious explanation is that in between that shot and Sisko stepping onto the Promenade, the ''Enterprise'' was returning either from patrol or a supply run, or O'Brien was sent to the station on a more direct route than the Enterprise took, but he didn't have time to fully move between assignments yet.
* SugarWiki/HeartwarmingMoments: Picard has two, the first when he gives O'Brien his sendoff by beaming him to Deep Space Nine and the second when he reconciles with Sisko and wishes him well.
