* ItWasHisSled: The villain's identity was kept a secret prior to the game's release, where early on he's revealed to be the Qwark Fanboy from [[VideoGame/RatchetAndClankGoingCommando the second game]]. Since then fans have never even attempted to keep this a secret, mainly due to them finding the reveal to be completely underwhelming after Insomniac hyped up a returning villain.

* ScrappyMechanic: Having to obtain weapons from Weapon Pods as opposed to purchasing them outright. That by itself wouldn't be too bad, but Insomniac went about implementing it in the most annoying way possible. Firstly, [[BagOfSpilling your inventory is reset]] every time you enter a level (even if it's one you've already beaten) meaning you have to constantly reacquire your arsenal and it forces you to start every mission without a substantial ranged attack. And secondly, the limited number of Weapon Pods makes it so you're never able to hold the full arsenal at one time, not only limiting your options in a fight but also meaning that you have to guess what weapons are going to work best in the level with no way of changing it.

* {{Sequelitis}}: Like ''All 4 One'', ''Full Frontal Assault'' has been criticized by older fans for the weak storyline with [[TheyWastedAPerfectlyGoodPlot missed opportunities]] regarding the [[VideoGame/RatchetAndClankUpYourArsenal revival of the Q-Force]], being multiplayer-oriented, the Vita version's PortingDisaster, and for overusing memes.
* ThatOneAchievement: The "Ironmadman" trophy. Over the course of your gameplay , you need to Hoverboot 112 miles, run 26.2 miles, and glide 2.4 miles. This trophy is tedious, and since there are Skill Points for Hoverbooting 100 miles, running 26.2 miles, and gliding 1 mile, for Hoverbooting and gliding, you won't even know how much more distance you have to cover, since it's not measured anywhere. The one saving grace is that the trophy combines distance covered between story mode and multiplayer mode, so even if you've finished the main game, you can still play online.

memes. As a result it’s commonly labeled by fans as the weakest entry in the franchise, with it receiving some of the lowest scores in its history.

* TheyChangedItNowItSucks: The continued emphasis on co-op multiplayer as well as the game’s structure being based entirely around tower defense gameplay did not sit well with fans who were hoping for a full return to the series’ standard gameplay, especially with it being made for the series’ 10th anniversary.

* GameBreaker: A level 5 Alpha Combuster can shred through enemies and is so strong, you can make it the only weapon you need to get (give or take an Alpha Groovitron or Alpha Warmonger if you really need them). If you get the Infinite Ammo cheat, the Alpha Combuster is completely broken, overpowering enemies with MoreDakka that never ends, ever.

* CompleteMonster: [[FromNobodyToNightmare Stuart Zurgo]] has become far worse since his optional appearance in Going Commando. Becoming disillusioned with heroes due to Qwark's flaws, Stuart decided to teach him and the galaxy that forgave him a lesson, starting by shutting down the defense centers of three 2 allowing them to be invaded by marauders and threatening to do the same to the entire Polaris Galaxy if anyone but the Q-Force tries to help. Later stealing the Galactic Weather Grid so he can throw Polaris into chaos with weather attacks, he disguises himself as Qwark to frame him for the destruction. Plunging Ebaro into the Ice Age, Zurgo attempts to kill Ratchet, Clank, and Qwark when they arrive to stop him.

* PortingDisaster: Despite its lengthy delay, the PSP version features reduced graphical capability, has fewer multiplayer skins, is missing 2vs2 matches, and its main gimmick -- crossplay with the [=PS3=] version -- is inexplicably cut.
