* DesignatedHero: Our protagonists destroy property, harass people, rob from the elderly, and even [[spoiler:try to assassinate an elected official with their Pokémon]], and yet are treated as the heroes by the narrative simply because they share the author's Christian viewpoint.
* DesignatedVillain: Colress doesn't do anything remotely evil in the fanfic. All he does is give lectures on human evolution and promote his satirical novel. But because of the author's views, he's treated as heinous. Team Plasma also get this treatment, at worst being rather preachy about their atheism but otherwise generally rational and affable people.

* DracoInLeatherPants: Accidentally done with Ghetsis. While he's a villain in the story, he's still ''leagues'' more heroic than his monstrous canon counterpart. It doesn't help that Team Plasma as a whole is subjected to the DesignatedVillain treatment.
