** In a classic example of YourMileageMayVary, Sea Fortress and Sinking Feeling from ''Black Hole Rising''. Players fall neatly into two camps: those who think Sea Fortress is a ScrappyLevel and Sinking Feeling a BreatherLevel, and those who think the opposite (okay, a handful people find both easy or both hard, but they're statistical flukes). Given Sea Fortress is a highly tactical mission with limited resources and an emphasis on unit placement and management, while Sinking Feeling is a highly strategic mission with a time limit and a very freeform (thus hard to {{Walkthrough}}) general strategy, it's easy to see where this comes from.

* DesignatedVillain: not in the games, per-se, but on fansites. The user Master Knight DH is emotional to be fair, but it's clear he doesn't do things out of unwarranted malice and has even tried to help, even if he would be more negative than most people probably including himself likes. However, he is nevertheless mocked to alarming degrees. [[http://awbw.wikia.com/index.php?title=User_talk:Forbs&curid=2062&diff=4503&oldid=4498 This]] is one blatant example of how 2 wrongs somehow make a right.

** On AWBW's Wikia, only "useful" help is allowed. God forbid there could possibly be creative ideas to explore. Oh no, they'll get deleted on sight on a thinly-veiled excuse of "not needed" to ''mock a user who tries to be genuinely helpful''.

http://awbw.wikia.com/wiki/Special:RecentChanges <— look through this. Most of the edits from yesterday are malicious abuse of a user who was genuinely trying to be helpful. Also, look at the Glossary\'s history. Said user did most of the work there. And see what\'s added right below Stop Having Fun Guys, tell me that garbage is cool.

** A Hero's Farewell in ''Days of Ruin''. Forsythe starts with a strong army and navy as well as a financial edge, and your [=HQs=] are at opposite ends of the map. Also, whatever extra bases you can get are in very hard-to-use positions, especially the airport, which is very far removed from Forsythe's forces. It is a ''nightmare'' to try and rout him, let alone capture his HQ.

Not to mention that the maps you battle him on are rather... pathetic, to the point where the last mission should have been called ''Mean To The End'' instead.
