Edit: I would like to further add that the pro-Mangs user in the first link had done some "cleanup" which happened to involve deleting comments by an anti-Mangs user named "Rain", so there's already some dishonesty on his part. I put the You Tube Community post on Web Archive, but just in case Web Archive doesn't do its job of preserving it properly to prevent edit abuse in case he can see this and respond accordingly, here is the You Tube Community post in its original form: "I was searching for AW reboot reviews/opinions. Found a forum today and it's still the selective fe drama/mangs topic again. Last week I logged into aw discords from a guest account. Saw it there too then searched and the dates showed it's a weekly occurrence.

"It was a good decision to quit these groups for good."

I’ve also never heard of any of this, and I also agree that it certainly hasn’t completely overshadowed the games release outside of a small and insular community most of us are not a part of.

Mangs was a big name in the significantly bigger Fire Emblem community with easily fewer than his current 120K subscribers, and you want to tell me that he's a Small Name, Big Ego case with his "Mangsvance Wars" patch? Gravvitt, based on your edits and comments I'm honestly not sure what the deleted edit is even claiming is overshadowed or what is doing the overshadowing. That's not a good sign.

This sounds like very niche community drama that really wouldn't warrant mention on this franchise page.

You're citing tweets with single-digit likes, here. That's not the smoking gun you think it is.

Are you saying SEXUAL ASSAULT by a very prominent community figure with over 120,000 subscribers is "niche community drama"?

I don’t want to downplay the crime, and I don’t think anyone else does. But in the grand scheme of things that’s not even that many subscribers man.

If 120,000 subscribers really isn't a big number, then surely you can name enough Advance Wars video makers with anywhere even near 120,000 subscribers. If you can't, Mekkah already pointed out in his video that Mangs already had no competition in the Advance Wars community to challenge him, which would make your claim a case of Moving the Goalposts.

That we don't know any bigger (or really, any) creators in the space doesn't make it tremendously relevant to Advance Wars as a whole.

Let me put it this way. What little sales data I can find indicates that Reboot Camp sold 400k in its first three days. Even if we assume that number is the entirety of the AW community (a ridiculously conservative statement) then Mang's sub count represents less than 1/3 of the community. And the controversy is limited to even just a fraction of that. As of yet, you've not provided evidence that even Mangs is overshadowed by his controversy, let alone AW being overshadowed by this one person's controversy.

The average AW player will not know about Mangs. I'm not sure the average Mangs viewer would know about his controversy. So a claim that Mangs' controversy overshadows AW's latest release is a very tough sell.

If you think sales that don't change the modest amount of traffic on the Game FA Qs board for the game are more of evidence of anything than Mangs having 120,000 subscribers when nobody else comes close enough, especially when you are admitting somebody who wrote up posts detailing the problems with Mangs' conduct to be noteworthy and even decrying the posts' author as "insane", then how about this: you're helping to let a sexual assailant with history of cruelty control the information network for the Advance Wars series.

Here's a simple solution: bring up to other editors about Mangs being a sex pest. His assault on Goosaphone in addition to his other offenses is conduct that everybody in Advance Wars communities deserves to know regardless, especially when the effects spread to one of the Wikis linked to on the main page of the series. The fact that the entry is removed because the author of the posts, a far lesser known user, is "known as insane" kills your excuse that Mangs is too unknown to mention.

You're really not helping your case.

All you're demonstrating is this Master Knight guy cares. And really not helping your case about it being community drama when you point out that a thread with a whopping 51 posts, many of which kinda exemplify the "the lay fan doesn't know about this drama."

Again, at the bare minimum, to claim this game is Overshadowed by Controversy you need to prove that A: Mangs is Overshadowed by Controversy which, if he's as large as you claim, is a hard sell when you're citing threads with 51 posts as proof this user with hundreds of times as many subs is overshadowed. Then you need to prove that Mangs' controversy overshadows the release of the game itself.

YMMV pages are problematic when it comes to importing drama, but at the end of the day, they're here to log audience reactions, not contribute to them. Trying to use the TVT page for a mainline franchise in order to warn against a single user is absolutely drama importation and would be inappropriate. This isn't YMMV.Mangs, it's YMMV.Nintendo Wars. We don't get to say that Mangs should be Overshadowed by Controversy and we absolutely don't hijack another work's page that he's not actually a part of to do it.

Your hyperbolic and accusatory language isn't helping and probably breaks TVT's "don't be a dick." I genuinely have trouble following your points at times. It's especially bad that you've done such a poor job at elaborating your points when there already is a perfectly serviceable description of the controversy on YMMV.Mangs that is far more helpful than all your posts combined.
