** The replica Bounty built for this movie sank in 2012, off the North Carolina coast. The ship's captain Robin Walbridge, was presumed dead after no trace of him could be found. One other crewmember, Claudine Christian, who claimed to be a descendant of Fletcher Christian, died in a hospital after her rescue.
** An advertising brochure for the replica Bounty quoted a reporter saying, "Your children's children will not see her like again. Nor will you." After ths ship's sinking, it's certainly true.
