* AssPull: One admitted by the devs, even. In chapter four of Max's Big Bust 2: Max's Bigger Bust, [[spoiler:it's revealed, completely out of the blue, that Max and Heather are not blood siblings]]. At the end of the chapter, Captain Nekorai (who, in this game, is the devs' AuthorAvatar) gets called on this by Max.

* MoralEventHorizon: In chapter four of ''Max's Big Bust 2'', [[spoiler: Heather]] reveals that she's been pulling a GrandTheftMe on Max for the last several nights [[spoiler: and having sex with people for money while doing so]], then attempts to permanently steal Max's body and trap Max in her body. Max is furious at this, and once she gets her body back she says that ThisIsUnforgivable and that she is seriously contemplating outright killing [[spoiler: Heather]] in retaliation.

* LikeYouWouldReallyDoIt: [[spoiler:Ember]] seems to die at the end of chapter six of ''Max's Bigger Bust'', but AuthorAvatar Captain Nekorai outright admits that she's probably not dead during the placeholder at the end (which disappears after the next chapter is released), because it would be stupid of him to spend all that money on a bunch of character sprites and only use them in one chapter. He suggests that she may be in [[CovenientComa a coma]] because "That's a thing that happens in well written stories like this one!"

* FunnyAneurysmMoment: The game has a significant number of times where police shooting unarmed people, deliberate use of excessive force, and general abuse of power for personal gain are all played for laughs. Following the large scale Black Lives Matter protests of 2020 that occured in response to numerous cases of similar behavior by police forces in real life, the jokes are not nearly as funny.
