* CatharsisFactor: Scrat finally eating his acorn after two decades of chasing it, is perphaps perhaps the most satisfing moment in the entire franchise.franchise. There's a reason why it went viral.

Added DiffLines:

* DelusionConclusion: There's something really odd about "Nut the End" [[spoiler: It suddenly has a TimeSkip where Scrat dies of old age, but Baby Scrat hasn't aged one single bit, they are still in the same cliff and somehow they hadn't eated nothing in years and they are still standing, not to mention the GainaxEnding where Scrat becomes a zombie]]. A popular fanon is that is a Scrat's ImagineSpot where Scrat reflects what his life will be without chasing his acorn and more that a few viewers were surprised when the ending of the short ''didn't'' reveal that to be the case.

* MorePopularSpinOff: Merchandise-wise at least. Scrat Tales was promoted in some toys as a spin-off of ''WesternAnimation/TheIceAgeAdventuresOfBuckWild'', given that one was a critical flop and forgotten almost inmediately after his release and Scrat Tales was a major WinBackTheCrowd for the franchise. It's safe to say one is more popular that the other.

** Given the BrokenBase around "Nut the End", some fans prefer to think "Nutty Reflections" happens after the events of that episode feeling it fits better as a conclusion.

Added DiffLines:

* UnexpectedCharacter: Like with ''WesternAnimation/TheIceAgeAdventuresOfBuckWild'', many fans were surprised to see a Baby Dodo on the series, as most fans believed they went extinct some time after the second movie.

* BrokenBase: The ending of "Nut the End" [[spoiler: Scrat seems to die of old age after having lost his acorn for good but after a lifetime of living happily with Baby Scrat.......only for him as a ghost to discover he had tricked him about the acorn's destruction so that he could have it to himself once Scrat passed away. This causes him to turn into a zombie in a attack of rage and try to go after Baby Scrat once again]]. To some fans this ruins some of the previous Heartwarming moments between the two since [[spoiler: It makes a major part of their lifes being nothing but a manipulation to get the acorn]] or is just the regular KafkaComedy to expect from Scrat and think other fans expecting a heartwarming ending were taking the character too seriously. There are also those who dislike it simply because it's the last Scrat production and some prefered a more definitive conclusion [[spoiler:like Scrat dying]] rather that the usual FailureIsTheOnlyOption ending where all goes south to Scrat.

** After all these years, [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Uuua5lVrdP0 in a short produced behind the scenes and dropped the day of the series' premiere,]] Scrat ''finally'' gets to eat his acorn. On a meta level, it also serves as the perfect send-off to Creator/BlueSkyStudios itself, allowing them to end their time on a high note.

Requires Word Of God confirmation

* AuthorsSavingThrow: The shorts do a fairly good job fixing a few issues people have had with some of the later ''Ice Age'' installments:
** Scrat himself. Some felt that his antics have lost their charm, with him gradually turning into an [[{{Flanderization}} almighty god whose antics cause global and even galactic-scale natural disasters that kickstart the story]]. Not quite found here, where he is back to being a cute, simplistic ButtMonkey with relatively grounded misadventures.
** The talking characters (especially Manny, Sid, and Diego) being absent was seen as a good call in general, considering most fans felt that the later sequels were scraping the bottom of the barrel to find new stories to give them, either [[{{Flanderization}} doubling down on a basic character trait]] or just rehashing plots from previous films, especially with the love interest angle. Additionally, the lack of celebrity actors gives Chris Wedge more time to show off his range as Scrat.

** In "Nut the End", after Scrat loses the acorn on a cliff (and being exaggeratedly destroyed), he looks at his hands, losing the one thing he loved the most... and then Baby Scrat slowly grabs his hands and smiles at him. Scrat's brain is suddenly filled with Baby Scrat, and without the acorn, he spends the rest of his life filled with joy with Baby Scrat. Completely forgetting about the acorn. And when Scrat gets older, Baby Scrat takes care of him.
