wrong context (set dressing is an intentional choice, like so many other things in filmmaking. it's very common for shows/movies to shout out other projects their crew have done in a similar fashion to the SWAT poster thing. things don't appear in media 'just because the character liked them' but because the filmmakers made choices)

** An alternative explanation is simply that Franklin and Bash are action movie fans and happen to like the movie and/or its poster.

* ShoutOut: Franklin and Bash have a poster for the movie Film/{{SWAT}} hanging in their house. In one scene from the season 1 episode "Big Fish", Damien Karp is shown walking down a hallway, passing the poster. His actor, Creator/ReedDiamond, had a minor role in the film.

* BrokenBase: There's no clear consensus for whether Mundy (the second investigator) is a ReplacementScrappy for Carmen, a decent substitute in his own right or even more entertaining.

* HollywoodHomely: Jennifer in "Jennifer of Troy", played by an actress who is even better-looking than HollywoodHomely poster girl UglyBetty. The funniest part is that Jennifer has very good self-image and thinks she is beautiful, while the rest of the main characters (besides Stanton) immediately judges her to be ugly. Stanton thinks she is beautiful, but the others consider him strange for thinking so. WillingSuspensionOfDisbelief becomes extremely strained only 15 minutes into the episode. Fetish Fuel is not a trope and should not be used as one.

* HoYay: [[FetishFuelStationAttendant A female lawyer in their office]] suggested Franklin and Bash have "make up sex" when they aren't getting along well. Franklin jokes they tried that once.

Am I wrong in thinking entries like this in the YMMV thread should be motivated? \"Cliché Storm\", full stop, to me sounds like \"Complaining About Shows You Don\'t Like\".

** No one calls her ''ugly''. They just think it's ridiculous that she thinks she got fired for being the most attractive person in the office when she works with literal supermodels.
