** While the first game does have plenty of NightmareFuel moments and things about it that are scary/unsettling, the mechanics of the game itself pushes the game towards this a bit. Unlike the original Five Nights at Freddy's, the power in Five Nights at Wario's is extremely lenient and forgiving (especially since it's 200% instead of 100) meaning you could keep the doors shut for an extended amount of time without worry. Worse, the ghosts (excluding Mario) all act the same, appearing at the doorway and needing to be blocked by the door. You have no incentive to really watch them on the cameras, unlike FNAF where Freddy and Foxy act differently and actually require you to watch them on the camera. The combination of these two things essentially makes the first FNAW game, ridiculously easy to beat.

* TheyWastedAPerfectlyGoodCharacter: Unfortunately the case with Ashley. In canon, Ashley is a witch that lives in a haunted mansion and works at Wario Ware Inc. You would think in a game series where two of the games occur in those two locations, and where evil Entities are trying to destroy the world, that a witch like Ashley would have a prominent role. However in-game, Ashley's only appearance is in FNAF 3 in the Bathroom and Staircase. She doesn't appear in the second game, nor is she even mentioned at all in the Endgame Quest where they defeat Entity 01 and Emma. Hell, even when she's corrupted by Wario, Ashley doesn't show any proficiency with magic and casts a single spell.

* HilariousInHindsight: The very premise of the game- using Wario as a source of NightmareFuel- became this in light of the "Wario Apparition" memes which began circulating in mid-2020.

* CompleteMonster (Five Shows at Wario's): [[spoiler:Entity 01, also known as TheDevil, is the one that created the curse itself--Emma--responsible for the damnation of Wario and his friends' souls. Entity 01, with a little bit of manipulation from Emma, takes advantage of Bruno Gate, where he reveals that he plans to reach the Overworld to become a god and also completely reset time. Entity 01 tells Bruno that if he sells his soul to him, he will allow his daughter to be preserved through the reset. However, this is exactly what Entity 01 needs to finally be free in the normal world, and he, along with Emma, rampages across the world. They either kill people or imprison them in the Theater, where the residents are tortured and eventually killed]].

** This is especially bad in the first game, since most of the jumpscares animations are lifted from VideoGame/SuperSmashBrosBrawl
* SurprisinglyImprovedSequel: 3

* ThatOneLevel: The third game’s Hallway is infamous for being more difficult then most other rooms in the game. The camera not working, audio being the only way to find where the spirits are (barring a rare cutscene of Mario hiding), and it’s ability to ruin an All-Out Mode run.

* WhatAnIdiot: Wario's actions that trigger the plot. So he finds a book with demonic rituals in it.\\
You'd Expect: Really anything but what he does. Options include talking to their god buddy Rosalina, talking to anyone, not using the demonic book...\\
Instead: He uses it to try to become ghosts after death without reading the fine print.\\
As a Result: They become murderous unstoppable Ghosts and kill several people within the game alone. Rosalina spoiler:not wanting to kill her friends, tries to use time travel to destroy the book and prevent the ritual, not realizing that the Ghosts are immune to being erased with time travel, and that she herself will forget she used time travel, causing a nigh endless loop.
