* ItsShortSoItSucks: Another complaint some players and critics have towards the game is its rather brief length for an RPG.

** Nox's dragon form is a complete joke as it is incapable of not doing water damage, an element Genovefa already naturally resists. Equip Gen with a Brilliant Sapphire and Nox will be doing as much damage to her as the first enemy you encounter in the game.

* ScrappyMechanic: Interrupt Counters. Some enemies have automatic counters if you interrupt them, ranging from automatic buffing to attacking to ''healing''. There are ways to get around this, though, such as slowing them so you're less likely to interrupt, or paralyzing them which prevents this from happening.

* ThatOneBoss: The GiantSpider boss. The mini-boss minions are bad enough, being extremely fast, but the boss takes that UpToEleven. Not only does the boss come with two of the minions as flunkies, but is just as fast, gets an automatic speed boost if you interrupt it, can heal status effects, hits like a truck, and is extremely resistant to damage on top of being a DamageSpongeBoss.

* ItsPersonal: A meta example: [[spoiler: Norah's betrayal]] was such a PlayerPunch that players view the battle against [[spoiler: Nox]] as this, and find getting payback by slaying [[spoiler: her]] more satisfying than ''defeating the final boss''.

* TheManIsStickingItToTheMan: it's like Ubisoft aimed for creating the most appealing "indie" game possible, based on market research of indie games.

** If you are playing on Hard difficulty, the statues of Jupter and Mercury (a.k.a. the very first boss fight,) can be this, due to their improved damage and with you still only having Aurora in the party.

** The game's auto-save system is another. Some players feel it's better suited to an action-packed platformer or shooter, and would have preferred an overt way to save at your leisure.

* TearJerker: Near the end of the game, [[spoiler:Umbra provides Aurora a SadisticChoice to return home to Austria and reunite with her father, who had fallen ill after presuming his daughter to be dead. Aurora, who at the start of the game wanted nothing more than to return home, sees her father on his deathbed and tells him that while she will always love him, she cannot leave the Lemurians to their fate. Her father thanks her for making the right decision before passing away. This causes Aurora's protective crown to shatter and enables Umbra to kill Aurora, proclaiming her victory. Thankfully, Aurora gets better.]]
** The death of Aurora's mother, [[spoiler: the Queen of Light]]. The poor little girl sees her own mother die from poisoning in front of her eyes.
** Genovefa's plight. [[spoiler: She doesn't know that the ogre who took her parents ate both of them, and was waiting for their return after the ogre's death. She begins crying after Aurora spills the real news.]]

** To the point where the {{painful rhyme}}s were [[WebAnimation/ZeroPunctuation Yahtzee's]] biggest complaint about the game.

* GameBreaker: Status effects have a 100% success rate, including Paralyze, which freezes the enemy on the timeline (and prevents [[ScrappyMechanic interrupt counters]]) for up to 16 seconds if fully boosted. They work on every enemy, including bosses and the final boss. This make's Gen's Paralyze All skill one of the best in the game.
