* TheEndOrIsIt: Scooby pranks Shaggy in the end by pretending to become a Werewolf himself. Seemingly played for laughs, until Dracula and the Hunch Bunch appear in the window watching them.

* EvenEvilHasStandards: The Hunch Bunch, the plant monster, and Vanna Pira are horrified of Dracula planning to unleash Genghis Kong as a last resort to prevent Scooby and Shaggy from winning the race.

* PunchClockVillain: While every character Shaggy and the rest meet in Transylvania is a monster, only Dracula and the Hunch Bunch actual seem to be evil. The other monsters don't seem to have anything against Shaggy and are only out to win the race and earn the prizes. Even when the other racers attack Shaggy or each other, it is justified in that the race doesn't really have any rules. The only one actually cheating is Dracula, as he is supposed to be the host, not a contestant.

** It's also a reference to {{Creator/Vampira}}.

* CoversAlwaysLie: As seen above, Shaggy doesn't wear his normal attire as he usually does in the franchise (green shirt and brown/brownish red pants). Instead he wears a red shirt and jeans here.

* TheDitz: Vanna Pira is an outright moron. It takes her a while to get the obvious jokes Dracula makes at Shaggy's expense, for one thing.
** Crunch, too, given that he couldn’t count to three without Brunch’s help.

* ManEatingPlant: One of Dracula's attempts to slow down Scooby and Shaggy involves a man-eating plant. It tries to eat him instead because the Hunch Bunch grew the man-eating plant too soon.

* {{Thememobile}}: All of the cars in the race except the Werewolf Car are themed after the monsters driving them. Dracula also has one.

* ChekhovsGun: Shaggy's skills in racing come in very handy when he's coerced into filling in for the Werewolf in the Monster Road Rally.
** The Grimness Book of Records, which Wolfgang reveals early on tells them how they can get a new werewolf (i.e. Shaggy). At the end, Vanna Pira reveals that the book also reveals how to turn a werewolf back to normal. Cue the heroes stealing the book and making an escape.

* DeusExMachina: At the end, Dracula manages to catch the group in a magic storm tornado that should keep them up hoisted in the sky helplessly all night long until they run out of time in changing Shaggy back. Dracula opts to try to get it on camera -- [[LaserGuidedKarma only for the storm to zap him.]] Without explanation, the weather completely disappears and everyone realizes ''they somehow landed on a passenger jet plane'', riding it back to America without even having to lift a finger to save themselves at that point.

* SurprisinglyRealisticOutcome: At one point, Scooby puts a paper bag over werewolf Shaggy's head in an attempt to [[PaperThinDisguise hide him from the crowds at the drive-in]]. Unusually for ''Scooby-Doo'', which usually plays the trope straight, no one is fooled (considering the bag only hides Shaggy's head and not his fur, claws or tail) and they promptly go back to pursuing him.

* SmallRoleBigImpact: Wolfgang has almost no dialogue except at the very beginning of the movie and disappears from the story entirely soon after the race begins (being briefly seen operating a camera filming Dracula at the beginning of it), but he's the one who first showed Dracula the book on how to make a new werewolf, and how to make Shaggy that werewolf.

** One scene shows the monsters having a pre-race party and happily dancing.

* AlienLunch: Shaggy and Scooby are clearly grossed out by the pre-race party catering, such as bat burgers, frog fudge, spider-web spaghetti and plasma pizza, all of which is enough to make Scooby go GreenAroundTheGills ThroughAFaceFullOfFur.

* AmbiguouslyHuman: It’s never stated if Vanna Pira is human or not.

* ChewToy: ''Dracula.''

* GodzillaThreshold: As the race nears it's end, Dracula, [[EveryoneHasStandards to the surprise and horror of everyone else]], unleashes his final weapon, Genghis Kong, a {{Kaiju}} that, as his name implies, is like a cross between King Kong and Genghis Khan.

* IronButtmonkey: Count Dracula is the one who suffers most of the slapstick humor.

* ManEatingPlant. One of Dracula's attempts to slow down Scooby and Shaggy involves a man-eating plant. It tries to eat him instead because the Hunch Bunch grew the man-eating plant too soon.

* SecurityCling: When the Hunch Bunch’s web trick sends all the monster cars flying back, Dracula throws his arms around Van Pira as they prepare for the inevitable crash.

* VillainessesWantHeroes: The way Vanna Pira talks about Shaggy, it's heavily implied she has a crush on him, even describing him as cute the first time she sees a picture of him.

** One scene shows the monsters have ng a pre-race party and happily dancing.

* BalefulPolymorph: Shaggy. The main plot of the film is that he's turned into a werewolf against his will.

* FlatJoy: The peasants watching the race. "Yay."
** Turns to genuine cheering whenever anything bad befalls Dracula.

* KnownOnlyByTheirNickname: Assuming that "Googie" is nickname like "Shaggy" is, we never find what Shaggy's girlfriend's real name is.

The third of three movies starring WesternAnimation/ScoobyDoo, Shaggy, and Scrappy-Doo. The last movie produced for ''WesternAnimation/HannaBarberaSuperstars10'' series, it was also the last appearance of Scrappy-Doo in animated ''Scooby-Doo''.

We open up to Tyler County, USA, where the narrator introduces us to our heroes; Shaggy, hot-shot professional race car driver, Scooby and Scrappy, his on-board mechanics, and Googie, his [[SatelliteCharacter "adoring but liberated girlfriend"]] cheering them all on.

Eh? What's that? Since when was ''[[ButtMonkey Shaggy]]'' a [[InNameOnly hot-shot professional race car driver]] with a [[UglyGuyHotWife gorgeous girlfriend named Googie?]] Since, like, ''always'' man, don't you pay attention?!

''Any''way, we shift to darkest Transylvania, where Count {{Dracula}} is holding a meeting of monsters at his castle. It's time to decide the Monster of the Year, but the [[OurWerewolvesAreDifferent Werewolf]] is absent, having gone into retirement. With one of the most iconic monsters AWOL, Dracula is about to call the contest off until he learns of a special night--three of them--when the moon comes into position to make a ''new'' werewolf. Unfortunately, that new werewolf is none other than Shaggy!

Dracula sends his minions the [[BumblingHenchmenDuo Hunch Bunch]], a pair of [[TheIgor hunchbacks]], to America to transform Shaggy and bring him to Transylvania. Shaggy refuses to take part, however, and Dracula makes a deal with him: If Shaggy can win the [[WackyRacing Monster Road Race]], Dracula will undo the transformation. However, the Count has no intention of letting his new werewolf go that easily...

** Brunch is a kidnapper and saboteur, but he has extremely good manners and would get along fine with the heroes if they weren't trying to break free from Dracula.
** Bone Jangles is more laid back than the other monsters when it comes to interacting with Shaggy, although he's still an unrepentant cheater.
* AlienLunch: Shaggy and Scooby are clearly grossed out by the foods Dracula is serving at the pre-race party, such as bat burgers, frog fudge, spider-web spaghetti and plasma pizza, all of which is enough to make Scooby go GreenAroundTheGills ThroughAFaceFullOfFur.

* ArbitrarySkepticism: Shaggy is resistant to Scooby's attempts to warn him about the Hunch Bunch, despite this movie [[NegativeContinuity likely]] taking place after [[WesternAnimation/The13GhostsOfScoobyDoo their adventure to capture a hoard of real, monstrous ghosts]] and [[WesternAnimation/ScoobyDooAndTheGhoulSchool working at a school for monsters children.]]
* ArtShift: Compared to the previous two Scooby-Doo movies in the ''Hanna-Barbera Superstars 10'' series, which used hand-painted cel animation, this one was digitally colored in-house at H-B.[[note]]The actual animation was done overseas by Creator/WangFilmProductions and Creator/FilCartoons.[[/note]] At times, the [[SpecialEffectFailure limitations of the early computer system really show]]. This and ''[[WesternAnimation/YogiBear Yogi]] and the Invasion of the Space Bears'' (which came before this one) were the only two movies in the series to use digital ink-and-paint.
* AssKicksYou: Done unintentionally during the "Doing the Werewolf Rock" number, when Repulsa knocks Shaggy aside with her butt at one point.

* EvenEvilHasStandards: The Hunch Bunch, the plant monster, and Vanna Pira are horrified of Dracula planning to unleash Genghis Kong as a last resort to stop Scooby and Shaggy from winning the race.

** Turns genuine whenever anything bad happens to Dracula.

* InNameOnly: Pretty much the only thing the movie has in common with ''Scooby-Doo'' is Scooby, Shaggy, and Scrappy being in it (and they're now a world-famous funny-car racer and his pit crew). There are no mysteries or mystery elements, the monsters are entirely real and are never even thought to be fake, and the plot is basically ''WesternAnimation/WackyRaces''.

* KryptoniteProofSuit: Dracula is able to go out in the daylight by putting on sunscreen with an extremely high SPF-number. Presumably, Vanna Pira wears it too because she also goes out in the sun.

* RecycledSoundtrack: A few music cues from ''WesternAnimation/ScoobyDooAndTheGhoulSchool'' are reused here, and when our heroes initially arrive at the pre-race party, the monsters are dancing to music from ''Rockin' With [[WesternAnimation/TheJetsons Judy Jetson]]''.

* RememberTheNewGuy: Shaggy's girlfriend for this movie, a lady who goes by "Googie." This is the first time that she's seen by the audience, but judging from her interactions with Shaggy and the Doos, it would appear that Googie and Shaggy have been dating for quite some time (like, to the point of acting LikeAnOldMarriedCouple).

* SequelHook: The film ends with Dracula and the Hunch Bunch hinting that they're not quite done messing with Scooby, Shaggy, and Scrappy. Of course, nothing came of this.

* ShoeSlap: When the Hunch Bunch are dressed up as cats and making cat noises to keep Shaggy awake, Frankenstein hurls his shoe at them to shut them up.
