''Dinosaur Adventure'' (''Im Land der Dinosaurier'') is a 2000 animated film created by the infamous German mockbuster studio Creator/DingoPictures. In prehistoric times, a young dinosaur named Tio lives with his parents and spends his days playing with his best friend Kree, a mischievous, wisecracking pterosaur. Tio's temperamental father, however, vitriolically disapproves of his son's friendship with Kree and attempts to separate the two by enrolling Tio into a school helmed by Oro, an eccentric elderly dinosaur with a [[LargeHam loudly-emphasized]] passion for science. While demonstrating one of his inventions to his class, said invention registers seismic activity foretelling an imminent volcanic eruption. He then sets off on a journey to find his parents.

** Tio II (a toddler!) is obviously voiced by a grown man. Given the original Tio’s rather effeminate voice, having him and his little brother meet and converse at the end of the film is even more hilarious.
** Arg is very clearly voiced by a woman, as is Dragon, the ''male'' leader of the [[AnachronismStew gorilla tribe]].

* OnlyTheLeadsGetAHappyEnding: All of Tio's friends and relatives survive. Everyone else is killed by the volcano, becomes a carnivore, or is eaten by the carnivores.

** Peek, especially towards Tio. Even when Tio almost dies from his fall and [[DespairEventHorizon almost gives up on trying to find his parents upon seeing his new brother]], Peek teases him about it. Oro rightfully calls him out on this.

* ArtisticLicenseBiology: Tio is a T. rex-ish ''thing'' with a [[ArtisticLicensePaleontology red button nose]] and is apparently [[ChocolateBaby the child of two sauropods]]. Also, [[spoiler:meat eating is treated as [[CarnivoreConfusion cannibalism]]]], which suffice to say is quite face-palming for everyone who even remotely knows what dinosaurs are. But a case of AccidentallyCorrectWriting in that [[spoiler:the ceratopsian-like dinosaur is the one who suggests it, this movie having been made several years before the idea that ceratopsians were probably opportunistically omnivorous became mainstream]].

* SurpriseCreepy: People watching it expecting a stupid film to laugh at (and ''Yee'') may be surprised by the dark plot involving the dinosaurs' homeland being destroyed by a volcanic eruption, with several dinosaurs explicitly dying as a result. Those who survive are not better: the main characters meet some former friends who have resorted to cannibalism to survive, and the possibility of dying of thirst or starvation is a threat for a sizable part of the movie.

* ArtisticLicensePaleontology: Absolutely '''everything'''. With her cartoon dog nose and round ears, Fa looks more like a reject from WesternAnimation/PBAndJOtter. Then there's Peek, who is apparently an ''Ankylosaurus'' but looks more like one of those cheap plastic dinosaurs made in China that you get in a bag at the dollar store. Kree is supposed to be a [[PteroSoarer pterosaur]], but he looks more like mutant bird-bat thing. [[https://mockbuster.fandom.com/wiki/File:Whateven.png There's also what looks like an orange frog-chameleon-therizinosaur thing.]] And then there's Tio's parents, who look like quadrupedal sauropods while Tio looks like a bipedal ''Tyrannosaurus rex''. Then they have a second child (named [[ReplacementGoldfish Tio the Second]]) who looks exactly like Tio. Ironically, the theropod-looking dinosaur Oro (who is supposed to be an ''Orodromeus'', hence his name) appears to have fuzzy integument analogous to feathers, and he makes possible reference to the idea that dinosaurs evolved into birds in one of his lines.

* PteroSoarer: Kree is an [[ExaggeratedTrope exaggerated]] example in that he's borderline-unrecognizable as even a stereotypical pterosaur, looking more like some deformed parrot thing with [[WesternAnimation/TheLandBeforeTime Petrie's]] head.

* ChocolateBaby: Tio's parents resemble sauropods. But he looks more like a ''Tyrannosaurus rex''. Then after the area is destroyed by a volcano and they move, they have a second child that also looks like a ''T. rex''.
