* TakeAThirdOption: Most deletion discussions are closed as "keep" or "delete". However, some can end up closed for other reasons: either the page qualifies for a "speedy" deletion, so a discussion is redundant; the nominator withdraws without objection for others; no clear consensus in either direction is formed after several weeks; or the nomination is obvious {{Troll}}ing.

* {{Fannage}}: They have, for instance, plot summaries of every single ''Franchise/StarTrek'' episode - ''all'' series. Their coverage of ''WesternAnimation/TheSimpsons'' is also impressive, with about the half of the articles on that series rated either "good article" or "featured article". Though in a perfect example of serial deleting in action there's currently a discussion of the idea some guy had to 'merge' (delete) all the Enterprise episode pages so instead of the detailed summaries which currently exist there is a couple of sentences for each.

* EarlyInstallmentWeirdness: This can often be seen by checking the edit history of an older article. Early Wikipedia articles didn't have wikilinks, categories, images, or footnotes. ''Very'' early articles (dating back to 2001) actually used a CamelCase wikilink style akin to what TV Tropes uses instead of the now-widespread markup used on nearly every other wiki.

Given Wikipedia's role as a central information source, you can probably gain more info on the "what" of (for example) StarTrek from it than you can from actually watching the show, and that's nice. Here?

As per edit-request thread, in part: Bias Steamroller is a rather questionable YMMV-like trope whereby a media critic is taken to task over a perceived excess of personal preference over objectivity. Bluenose Bowdlerizer seems wrong, or at least over-general: Wikipedia has a wealth of pages where accuracy is put ahead of the typical censorship targets. Distracted By The Sexy seems like a misapplication: that\'s a character being distracted by another attractive character and usually getting into an accident as a result. Possibly The Wiki Rule could apply, but as written it was sniping. The Internet Is For Porn when applied to real life seems like a common personal habit elevated into a excessive generalization, esp when applied to a diverse site like this one. Take It To The Forums is written as an \'aversion\', taking aversion to mean negation when it\'s something much more specific.

* BiasSteamroller: Many academics still dismiss the validity of Wikipedia entirely, regardless of the fact that most of the information on the site is verifiable. Most of the disdain that many academics have for the site comes from the fact that it can be changed at any time by any person with an Internet connection, and particularly clever [[WikiVandal Wiki Vandals]] can subtly sow misinformation in articles that aren't caught for months.
* BluenoseBowdlerizer: Correctness is often sacrificed, even if that's against their policy (see DistractedByTheSexy).

* DistractedByTheSexy: Some pages are decidedly NotSafeForWork.

* TakeItToTheForums: Averted - Wikipedia has no official forums. At best, discussion pages can be used.
* TheInternetIsForPorn: Look up any of their [[PoorMansPorn "anatomy"]] pages. {{Uncyclopedia}} even said Wiki's page on breasts have more serviceable images than theirs.

* TheWikiRule: Tries to follow this for "encyclopedia", but is known to fail (often per {{Fannage}}).
